I'm OK though. I was going to see my new nephew and I was driving on the L.I.E. in stop & go traffic. While I was coming to a stop and Mercedes smashed into me at like 30 miles an hour.
Thank goodness for my Jeep Cherokee because the only damage I have is a dent in my trunk. The Mercedes crumpled like an accordian though
They shut the highway down for a minute to let us off the highway.
The man took full responsibility to the cop (how could he not?) so hopefully insurance will fix any damage to the back.
It scared the crap out of me though, didn;t even see him coming - just SMASH!

I'm glad you're feeling okay. PLEASE go see a doctor anyway. You could have messed something up and you don't know it. They say if you get rearended at 5mph your head flies forward at 7,000 mph. You need to really check it out, form experience. I hope all is well.

This happened to me in my new Maxima and to this day, I still drive looking in the rearview mirror. I'm happy you're ok. His insurance will definitely cover it.

OK, does it change anything if I tell you my rearview mirror fell off two weeks ago & DH still hasn't reattached it yet I know I couldn't have stopped the accident but at least I could have braced myself or had a 1/2 second for it to register! GRRRR.

bracing yourself is usually worse, because you tesne your muscles and that can make it worse. than again being too loose is bad too. they said that's how I got so effed up. I was really flexible being a dancer, so my spine just FLEW..

i hope you are ok!!!!!!!!!!!!! that is what happened to my dad earlier in the week. unfortunately the azzhole that hit my dad totalled my dads poor car!!!!! but who cares, he is alright!

at first we didn;t think there was any damage to my car then I really looked and saw the whole trunk is now curved in. The Mercedes Car is something though, it did what it was supposed to do, crumples up like an accordian to absorb the shock - I mean it looks bad but the guys airbags didn't even deploy.

Glad you're okay, and even more glad that the asshat told the cop it was his fault. Get a copy of that police report!!
You should get checked out by a dr though, just in case.

Glad you are ok. I was rearended the week of Christmas. Same situation, I didnt even it see it coming. I was stopped @ a light on 347 and the guy behind me made no effort to stop. I crashed into the car in front of me (the impact pushed me into her car). The arse that hit me was in a minivan, I was in a little saturn and I crashed into the minivan in front of me. His insurance covered everything, my saturn was very strong that day, bumps and bruises. Also, go to the dr. and get checked. Always play it safe!
