i got MARRIED yesterday...my mini review
Yesterday was the most amazing day of my LIFE!
The weather was absolutely GORGEOUS
i was soooo happy and calm from the second i woke up that morning, and the day was so much more than i expected it could ever be!
my mini- review for now....as my HUSBAND![]()
is asleep on the couch (no honeymoon for us, we were gonna spend a few nights at a local hotel, and instead decided after spending last night there that we would be much happier at home and do something special every day together)
FIrst, the west sayville country club was unbelievable.....everything they said it would be, and more. we took pictures next door at the maritime museum after the ceremony and they actually had the staff walk all the way over there with food and drinks for us! The 5 minutes before we were intro'd into the room, they served my husband a turkey club sandwich that he asked for and remembered that I mentioned how good the tuna and wasabi was so brought me up a plate of that, too. Completely attentive the entire night and the guests couldn't stop raving about the food!
Officiant....Rev. Francine Pollaci....can't say enough good things about her! the ceremony was beautiful and personal and so touching. I would recommend her to anyone without a moments hesitation!
Florist...Bayport flower houses....ALL the flowers were fresh and beautiful and despite the fact that hydrangeas are fragile and wilt easily, they stayed beautiful all day long. the centerpieces especially, because they stayed in water, will last a while. The florist, Joanne, was extremely helpful and sweet throughout the planning process, and their prices can't be beat :)
DJ...Pat from DJ entertainment services, was recommended by steve at west sayville. he played EVERY song on my extensive list, asked me questions to make sure of what i wanted several times during the night and was low-key and anti-cheesy as i requested. We hate the DJs who are all talkative and do those cheesy announcements. He did a wonderful job and even found an obscure song that apparently is hard to get (Pure Imagination, from willy wonka) that was really important to us to have played (we LOVE willy wonka and considered making it the theme of the wedding early on).
Makeup....Kelly from GLAM ME UP was AMAZING! I don't think i'm pretty at all but when she was done with me i felt BEAUTIFUL. Besides being amazing at what she does, she is also sweet as can be and it was fun having her there with my wedding party. She did my mom too, and i've never seen her look better! also last minute one of my bridesmaids decided to have her makeup done too, and she did her as well. I loved how we all looked!!!
