Thanks!!! I think its so important to do this. I cant imagine not knowing where I got my eyes from, or my smile..or anything. It would be extremely difficult. The average age there is 35, so if we wait until they older, those relatives may have passed on..I dont want them reaching abunch of loose ends..especially if we have the chance NOW to find them. Please please pray that we can locate the family members..I personally feel that this will lead them to live a more content life. I have read that transracial adoption can be extremely difficult..not that they wont love us, but they needa sense of their culture..they need to know these things, such as who they look like. I hope and pray that Paulos' baby brother is still alive when we get there. I know he is not expected to live long..but how long I dont know. Its so sad.

maybe you can even take video when you are over there for them when they get a little older then can always watch them.
like do videoed family history or something- interview their relatives on tape!

Alicia, it's really wonderful that everything's working out so well for you, I hope it continues to go so well, and even better!

Ethiopia has its problems, but it really isn't as bad as we in America think it is. My aunt was born and raised there, and I know her whole family - LOVELY people, all of them. I wouldn't think of any of them as being from a third world nation. I hope that information makes it a little easier on your Mom.

Princess Rose..Thank you!!! My mom would panic if I went to meet anyone alone, let alone being in a different country, she sjust a worrier..I on the other hand am not afraid at all. I plan to video if the family doesnt mind and I will cherish having the opportunity to meet them. I know the particualr families are extremely poor, which is why they had to relinquish the rights, they just couldnt take care of them. Its incredibly sad, our boys parents both have passed from aids, due to faulty medical..I have met many many people from Ethiopia and what wonderfully sweet and down to earth people, not to mention GORGEOUS! Prnicess Rose, have you had the opportunity to visit Addis? I am so excited..i will travel to Addis as well as Tigray( I hope I spelled that right)..our son Paulos grew up in Tigray, although his orphanage is in Addis Ababa now. It looks like such a beautiful place!

I am so happy for you alicia and your husband that's a great thing you are doing for you boys. i have said it over and over again you are god's gift from heaven you have such a huge heart there should be more people like you. i cant wait till you get your boys and if you ever need anything dont hesitate to ask. you are such a angel and i am proud to you know.

How great that Dex can be there with you for a week! You have so much to look forward to together and I hope your sons know how wonderful you are! Can't wait till they are home with their Mom and Dad!

I think this is so great what you are doing, and I do not know anyone who is so giving of themself to not only adpot and love these kids, but also to work so hard to make sure they know about their birth families and such.

No, I've never had the opportunity to go to Ethiopia, but maybe someday. Many people in my Aunt's family have emigrated to Europe and the States, and I want to go see them too!

My Mom is a worrier too. Once she made my poor father drive up to Woodbridge, NJ from their place in Baltimore to keep me from taking a train through Manhattan past 10 at night. I understand, really I do. My worry now is that I'll be just as much of a worry wart!!!!!!!!!

My earlier offer regarding Amharic still stands, as well as international adoption procedure information. Should you need any help in either area, let me know.

PrincessRose..I do have a question..I would love it if you could find out..what is grandma and grandpa in Amharic?
My mom and dad would love to be called that, rather than grandma and grandpa..they would love to hear the boys speak Amharic. Its such a beautiful language. I have the CD rom, but I am struggling. I wish a local college taught classes!!!
We are all set with all of the procedures, our Dossier went over to Addis on Feb 8th..so now we just wait....and wait and wait...UGH

New job, then quick promotion....trying to buy a house.....going to Daytona.....it's been super-hectic around here. (But all good stuff )
