I got some more quotes....
I went to some more reception halls over the weekend.
Riviera- beautiful location, and view. Nice outdoor area for pics and ceremony. A bit small for a larger wedding. FM me for other details id rather not post.
Millridge Carriage House- sooo pretty, and CLEAN. Great for a winter wedding. Nice xmas decorations are up through mid January. The price I got was for a Jan Sunday, with the 3* menu (which pretty much includes EVERYTHING). It was 105 plus tax and s/c. The min was 175. 6 pp extra for an extra hr.
Douglaston Manor- completely new and rennovated. Beautiful ceiling in main room, and great window view in CH room of golf course. Didnt like that you'd have to walk through the main room to get to CH. Seemed a bit small, and there would be a few other events at the same time. The price for a Sunday in Jan, Feb was 75, and Saturday was 85. Add on's like VH and Seafood were expensive. Like 25pp each. Not much included in the base package. Im sure you could work them down if you have other quotes...but I didnt try.
Terrace on the Park- for the regular rooms their packages in Jan/Feb start at 75pp. Add on's are 12pp for VH and 20-25pp for seafood, depending on the type you choose. He knocked 2pp off the VH, and it included the extra hr in the price.
Then he broke out a VIP menu which included everything from soup to nuts.... (ie top shelf liquor -grey goose, black label etc, and every seafood at CH, a bunch of carving stations, including piglet, rack of lamb etc, caviar at ch, it just went all out). Then he shows me the room which goes with this package....and WHOA. It is on the 14th floor of the building. When you walk off the elevator you are walking right into the space in which all of your cold CH items will be set up. Then you walk to the left and see two glass doors, and when you walk outside you are on a deck which circles the building. The view you get is anything but short of amazing. It literallly took my breath away. You see all of manhattan lit up in lights at night, you also see the unisphere, shea statium, and the airport. It is truly amazing. The majority of CH would be outside. When that part is over, they take you to the main ballroom, which is set up in a circle. The walls are covered with windows inside so you do not loose the view! The ceiling has a HUGE chandilier (SP) above the dance floor. It is SO nice.... but a litttttttttle over the top. You seriously do not need any flowers for the tables or room, it would just look like 'too much'. The price for this package came to 135 plus tax and s/c.....but he threw in a June or July SATURDAY. It was hard to pass up!
I really liked TP, but im still not sure if the ballroom is my 'style.' It is a little over the top.
Let me know if you have any questions at all, just FM away.
