I got the call all brides want....

That my dress is in.... the only thing is that I am NOT excited, rather very upset... Some of you may know me from the 06 board and may know that FH and I decided to postpone our wedding to June 2007 because my dad is sick. Well I got the call this weekend that my gown is in and I need to pick it up as they do not have storage at the place.... Now I have to get the gown and stare at if for the next 14 months.....

awwww... I can see how disappointed you are.. I am sorry.. but at least you can play dress up with your dress for the next 14 months!!

Yeah I guess... I am now looking for a place that will store my gown as it has a lot of beading on it and the last thing I need is to have thenm 'turn' on me. I looked at the cleaner's near my place and they want to put it in a box but I need it to be hung and stored... I need to check with my mom's furrier and see if they can do it.

At least my dad will be there in June, prior to postponing it the dr's said it was a slim chance that he would be able to make it in July.

Sorry you are going through this.

All I can say is try and make picking up your dress a special moment for you anyway. Maybe take a picture of you in your dress to share some excitement with a close friend or your dad even. You seem to have so many important things going on, I'm sure it will turn out for the best. You just need to find your excitement again - your wedding was postponed for a good reason but that doesn't mean you cant be happy.

Hey, thanks! My Fh said the same thing and so the day I pick it up we are going to go out and try to do something fun. Yes the greatest gift is that my dad will be with us on our new wedding date and will be healthy and happy (fingers crossed!)

so sorry that you had to postpone. I hope your dad gets better soon. The time will fly. We had to postpone our wedding date twice already (the first two were tentative but 1 was in 2005 then 2006 and now finally 2007) the time really does go fast and you won't feel rushed with your planning.

Congrats on your dress. Your dress should be good for 14 months. You should talk to a place you got your dress on what is the best way to store it. I hope your dad if getting better.
