I got the job!! ETA: I need moral support pleasssse!!

You guys might remember me posting last week that I was supposed to hear about a job offer. I met with the Executive Director and President of the Board yesterday and they made me an offer, which I have accepted.

Now I have to go into my current boss and tell him that I'm leaving I hate doing this, I always feel bad. Any advice??

Yay! Congrats!

As for leaving...never burn bridges. Work very hard once you have given notice to ensure a smooth transition. People remember how one exits and if done gracefully you have contacts and references to count on in the future...

My only advice - is always leave on a good note! You never know when your paths will cross again. Thank them for the opportunities they have given you, but its time to move on.

Woohoo...I remember. I am sooo happy you got the job. I am going for my second interview next tuesday...and I cannot wait.

Don't be scared about telling your boss you are leaving. He has to understand that you are doing this for yourself.

Are you going to write a resignation letter?

Congrats! That is so great! Like others have said, never burn your bridges. Make sure you offer to make is as smooth a transition as possible.

Thanks for the good wishes everyone! You're all very sweet. Turns out my boss is out today so my anxiety is prolonged until tomorrow.

Scott, I will write a resignation letter if they ask me to. They may as protocol.
