i got the letter in the mail ... pre canna .. .

i got the letter in the mail ... pre canna .. .

starts monday 9/17/07 ..and i am so not looking foward to it ... i am nervous and dont really want to do it ... i am even more nervous about FH doing it ... hes not catholic not really religous and he really didnt want to do this or get married in a church but hes doing it for me ... anyone else starting thier pre canna soon ...

oh no! don't worry. Pre-cana really isnt bad at all.

I know i probably had it easy... our church just had us meet in their basement and we talked... about nothing religious or really all that serious either.
we mostly listened to stories that our head couple told us, and we 'learned' our lessons that way lol

we spent most of the time eating pretzels and drinking soda.

we didnt have to do the FOCUSS though, and i know that is what makes a lot of people nervous.

where are you doing your pre-cana? maybe some of us have done it there all ready and can help prepare you better?

you might have a positive experience dont worry and dont go in there thinking it will be bad. I am not catholic and getting married in a catholic church, at first i was nervous about pre-cana and well everything lol but i looked at the positive things we can learn at pre-cana.

aw don't be nervous! I defiantly didn't want to do pre canna either, but once I got there it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be! At our church we had to fill out these books talking about EVERYTHING and you couldn't show your FH, and he couldn't show you, and then they just went over everything and the 'head couple' talked to us seperatly incase we had more personal questions to ask and such, overall it wasn't that bad, and surprisingly not really that religious. I hope it goes well for you two!

We did ours last month. And it was totally not what we were expecting. We went to a couples house and there were 2 other couples besides ourselves. We discussed so many things from budgeting, to making desicions, to learning about how you fight and much more. It opened up our eyes a little more and made us really think about life. Most of the topics discussed FH and I already discussed but we had a good time. It was nice to meet other couples and discuss the topics with them too.

It's really not that bad. Religion was really not pushed during the sessions, it was mostly discussions about life and everyone in a while the lady hostessing would say, I beleive this b/c I beleive but they were not pushy and do not force you to believe what they do. HTH. Good Luck!

Don't worry, I just had mine. It was such a positive expereience. We bonded all over again

i cant wait for us to do precana- i have heard such great stories about it-- 2 of our friends did it just about a year ago and loved it- they said it helped them build a solid marriage and was very helpful.

my fh is not over the moon about going either- but he loves me and knows taht this will make me happy- just thank your fh for going with you and make a fuss about him always wanting to make you happy and blah blah- it always works on my fh lol

mine is at St Kilian's which is the church i will be getting married at ...

We are starting 9/23. I'm also nervous. FH goes to church every Sunday and I don't even know the order of mass!

HEYYYYYYY church twin!!!! I didn't know you're a St. Kilian's chica as well! KimNAnthony and I are signing up for fall for Friday Pre-Cana...you should do Friday with us!!!!

we just got our letter back also. Were doing ours November 2nd and 3rd. I know someone who already took it at the same place and she said it was nothing. And she said it was actually not that bad. So were looking foward to getting it over with.

i have no clue ... my deacon knows FH isnt catholic ... is that what i am suppose to be doing??? ...he didnt mention anythign about dirrfent types of pre-cana i didnt even know they have diffrent ones

i have no clue ... my deacon knows FH isnt catholic ... is that what i am suppose to be doing??? ...he didnt mention anythign about dirrfent types of pre-cana i didnt even know they have diffrent ones


Yup i had NO clue either until the church gave us a website to check with schedules to see which works best for us and i saw interfaith pre-cana and then asked FH's mom about it. SO yup since FH is catholic and I am not, we have to do that one

yes i am .... it wasnt my regular church but i love so i know attend there ... i would love to do it with you guys on firday .... but i have a second job and fridays arent a good day for me to go ... i wish i could so i could do it with you guys ... will probably see each other though on the first meeting!

maybe your church won't make you do it, i dont know. But yeah definitely ask.
