I gotta ask my grandma for $$..but don't know how. HELP!!**Updated at bottom**

I know how great you ladies are with wording...so any help is great. lol

So my grandmother offered to pay for a portion of my dress, then when I told her the price (cheaper than she probably thought) she offered to pay the whole thing.

So she sent me a check with a chunk of the money...and said she would send the rest later, but hasn't yet. She sent the check months ago when I ordered my dress

Now my dress is here, and I am sure I am going to have to pay the balance. I feel bad for asking....but I was planning on paying for my dress myself until she offered...which is a HUGE help.

So how the heck do I ask for the rest of the money??? I hate asking for things...especially $$ which is why this is so tough.

I say if you can still pay for it on your own, just pay off the balance and not mention anything.

I say pay for it yourself and when she remembers to send the check, just keep it

Does she live near? or close enough to maybe ask her if she wants to come see you in the dress for your first fitting?

No she lives in Fl so that's not an option

I really don't have it to pay off myself, because I still need to pay for my alterations and day of stuff....andddddd I don't have too much savings left.

Just call her and say...hey abuela, I'm super happy because they called to let me know my dress is here and I need to give them the rest of the money....(stop for a second) if she dosent say anything then you kindly ask her to see if she can mail you the rest at her convinience.

So I made the phone call...talked about the dress...paying for it (stating hopefully I get the unemployment I applied for to help pay for the rest of it) and nada......

She offered to send her wedding gift early if that would help out. I told her no that's ok. Don't want the gift going to my dress.

So I'm going to bite the bullet, and what little savings I have left pay for it and the alterations.

Not sure...lol. I don't want her gift for both of us going towards my dress. So if there is money left from the wedding budget maybe I'll take it from there. We will see. I don't want to force it since she is traveling here from FL for the wedding and staying 3 nights....so don't want to push it! I need to work with what I got. lol
