NO email!! Thank you note! It's more professional. And if you can, hand deliver it. It shows initiative.

I usually send a thank you note thanking them for meeting with me and then just reminding them of my skills and what I can give to the company.

I think you should write a regular thank you note as a matter of professional courtesy and to RE-ITERATE your candidacy for the posotion.. JMO

I had a tough time deciding between two people the last time I had a position open. One woman hand delivered a thank you note to me the following day- that was the icing on the cake and won her the job!

I say write a thank you and if you can't hand deliver it, send it right away! I agree it's much more professional and just says a lot about you!

Good Luck!

Send a thank you letter, no email. Go on Monsterboard they always have samples if you need.

Thank you for taking the time and meeting with me yesterday afternoon. Our meeting was quite informative, reinforcing my feelings that ? is a company offering success, growth and challenge. These qualities are an exact match to my future plans and goals.
My interest in the ? position is even more than before. I am certain that i am the person to help complete your hardworking and dedicated team. Through my past experience, I understand your needs and believe my self-motivated attitude combined with with organization and my multi-tasking skills prove to be a perfect match.

Or something like this. I wrote this note and almost all of my friends have used it... and it helped many get the job!!

Definately a hand written note. Personnaly I like it when someone sends a card with a note. I get so much email that a email thank you would be lost in the mix.

You should always send a thank you letter (on resume paper) as a professional curtesy and to let the interviewer know that you remain interested in the position. If you met with more than one person, then you should send separate letters to each. If you interviewed with one, but they brought another person in to speak with you for a few minutes, then you should send one letter to the interviewer, but include a line asking the interviewer to extend your thanks to so-and-so for taking the time to speak with you as well.

Career services was so militant about all of this in law school

Edited to say: Typed.

Wow, I've never heard of a hand-delivered thank you. That strikes me as overly aggressive, and potentially very awkward. Hmmm. What if they are busy interviewing another candidate when you show up?
