I had my 2nd fitting yesterday....

I am kind of sad. David's Bridal did the alterations PERFECTLY (I was shocked by this, actually) but I have lost a lot of weight and now my dress is too loose in the stomach area. I wanted it to be snug in the middle. It is too late now to have it altered that much, besides the fact that I can't afford it and I am afraid they may ruin it trying to change it so much. I guess I should be happy that I lost weight, but my dress makes me feel like I'm dressing up in my mother's clothes - I just look like a little girl in a big dress. The dress isn't 'ruined' or anything, it's just not how I wanted it.

Thanks for letting me vent.

I am so sorry. Have you asked David's Bridal if they could take it in? It might be worth it if you are unhappy with the way you look. They might give you a discounted price, you never know.

I would see if you can speak directly to the seemstress that does the alterations. A good seamstress will tell you up-front if they will ruin the dress. My mom used to be a seamstress and she would never do anything if she did not agree that she could handle it....

Why is it too late? I would talk to the seamstress and see if there is ANYTHING that can be done to try and make it fit a little more snug. You don't want to feel like a little girl in your dress...you want to feel like the beautiful woman you are.

I did talk to the seamstress... she was the one who told me they couldn't do it in time (at least, THEY couldn't do it in time)

I am going to try somewhere else on Monday... FH is ****ed he is going to pick up my dress tomorrow b/c I have to work.. If I can get someone else to do it, and it's not too expensive, I will.

FH even offered that we should spend the gift $$$ we have received so far on fixing the dress... i almost cried, it was so sweet.

You have more than enough time. If you take it out of the store its on you. Know this...never take no for an answer...especially if you spent money there. If you ask enough you shall receive. Or shoud I say cry enough... Demand service! You'll be surprised!

You could actually have a local seamstress (like at a cleaners) take it in for you.

Bull... it is not too late to have it altered that much.. if they cant do it... call someone else... I would explain to them that this is what youre paying them for... If they cant I would be really ticked and tell them to give me the money to get it altered somewhere else!! !UGH My sister had the same experience there!! I hate that store!!! But Smile, nad relax, everything will work out!! Look on the vright side if you're that upset you can go eat some Ben N Jerrys and not have to worry about it!!! Cheer Up!!!!
