I HAD MY SHOWER YESTERDAY!!!
It was a wonderful day. My mother had let it slip that she was coming over, so I knew my shower was this weekend, but I wasn't prepared for how many people came and what a wonderful job my sister did. My sister wanted it to be a big surprise that my mother had come from Ireland, so I saw her for the first time when I arrived at the restaurant and I was going to put on an act of being surprised, but I was genuinely very emotional.
It was held at our favorite restaurant, Shandon Court in East Islip, and we had a fantastic sit down lunch. The cake was included and was from Black Forest Bakery. Everyone raved about it. One girlfriend made the beautiful centerpieces from garden roses and berries and brought them all the way from Forest Hills. Another girlfriend did the games and provided really cute prizes for the guests. The favors were the heart-shaped ice-cream scoops and all the ladies loved them. The shower invitations were beautiful too and my sister had one framed for me as a keepsake.
I can't even begin to think about all the amazing gifts we received and how generous everyone was. We only unpacked half of them last night and have no room left in the house! My mother also saw our new house for the first time and met my closest girlfriends that I've known for six years, so it was a really special day.![]()

Oh, the battery in my digital was dead so I couldn't take any pics, but my sister had a disposable which I'll post pics from when they get developed.
