I had my shower Yesterday
Hello ladies - I don't have pictures yet - but will post as soon as I do. My MIL did a great job - we had it at Tratorria L'Contro in Astoria - it was beautiful 52 people came! And I had so many gifts!
Aside from my FH cousin's making silly remarks here and there (as most of you know he has a cousin that hated my registry and made it known that my choices were stupid) - so as I opened my gifts she made comments about them - but when she realized no one paying her any attention - she stopped - hahaha -
It was a great time - even better if she would have tried to put a smile on and be happy fro us - instead of sulking and being rude -
the best part was my mother put these great cards on each table asking everyone to give the bride and groom some advice and then at the end they had to leave in a heart shaped box -
most of then were beautiful - although there was a handful witht he same handwriting from I suspect his cousin with very rude remarks that maybe SHE thought was funny like 'Dear FH - life is a biatch and now you are marrying one - love Dad' of course it wasn't from his father - then another that said ' Dear Bride - you can catch more bees with honey than with vinegar from ?' - the best was 'Dear FH - never chose against the family from ?'
I got really angry when I read these - but then I realized that I am very nice to everyone and I get along with all of them and that these words were lies - from someone who is very miserable with herself - and so I smiled and unpacked all of my beautiful gifts...
