I had my shower yesterday!!!

Everything went perfectly - at least from what I know! The shower started at 1:30 PM at my cousin's house. I wanted to get to my cousin's before that, so I would be there before the guests arrived, but since so many think it's a surprise they came on time, and some saw me. They were just confused more than anything LOL

The theme was an afternoon tea party, complete with finger sandwiches, bisquits, and much more - it was so beautifully spread out I hope I have a pic of it. There were orchids among other flowers on the table.

Once I had about 4 mimosas (!) it was time for presents! I still can't get over what nice things we got....so sentimental too.....

Off the top of my head, we received a few china place settings (although my registry says 7 have been purchased, along with the accessories) so many some more will be wedding gifts...then 6 glasses from our formalware, and just about everything else from both registries - Pottery Barn wine glasses, etc.
One of my BMs gave me a big beach bag with all honeymoon related things - suntan lotion, guys and girls PJs, candy, tissues, games. It was really cute. Then my sister and mom gave me the bride and groom LLadro I had wanted for my collection- which I couldn't believe! It was so much money, and I knew they had already contributed a lot. My sister also gave me 2 T-shirts - one for me and one for James, with our pics on the front from her wedding, and the above caption 'just married' and on the back our names - it was a big hit and really cute.

And the best for last had to be the pillow that my mom handmade from material from her wedding gown .....it is beautiful, and I couldn't believe she had been working on it all this time. It's a square decorative pillow, with ivory satin covering, and small flowers attached to each corner, which was the neckline of her gown. In the middle she stitched 'Teri & James' and then the date on the bottom. I'm still so shocked!!

All in all it was a beautiful day

Jenny - the food was catered from a store in StonyBrook - not sure of the name.

The food was perfect though - since it was hot, no one really wanted a heavy lunch, and with so many women dieting nowadays, this was the perfect lunch!

It was an official 'tea party' complete with at least 4 different types of teas, all set up in different china kettles. There were small turkey sandwiches, tuna, and a few other meats cut on different types of breads, then cucumber sandwiches, and a few other varieties which now escape my mind! Instead of a cake, there were mini fruit tortes filled with custard and fresh fruit, those thin long chocolate pastries that can be found at gourmet supermarkets, and fresh fruit salad.

so pretty much finger sandwiches. that is what i was figuring. i am thinking maybe a pasta salad and a green salad as well?

We definitely had enough food (more than I mentioned - it was just such a whirlwind of a day!) but a salad would be nice too. If you wanted a whole 'tea party' theme though not sure if it would fit in though......
Oh, we also had different types of scones too
