I hate FH's cat

Original post by MikesBride2B

So this morning FH's cat comes out from under my bed and starts meowing to be pet...so of course I start petting him. When I stop he hisses at me, which he has done occasionally since he's gotten here and usually it means that he's pissed that I stopped petting him so I started to pet him again...THEN HE BIT MY HAND!!!! He pierced a vein the top of my hand...there was blood EVERYWHERE. I/my apartment looked like a slasher film busted through...blood on me and on the floor and my bath mat....ugh. It STILL hurts...I think he hit my nerve because it hurts all the way up my arm.

Stupid F*CKING cat...I was pissed so I went out and bought a pair of shoes (something FH forbid me to do haha) I told him that I deserved it because I almost bled out from his stupid cat.

FH said he has never done that before...now I'm concerned that he'll do it to FSD...and I don't know how she'll handle it because when he did it to me I was bawling like a baby for a good 15 minutes.

spray the cat with water if he does it again or shake a can of pennies, this usually scares them and won't do it again.

I hear this works !!!

you guys just moved in and like you said the cat had that long car ride...i would let this ride out for a few weeks.
cats take a while to be comfy and trust people sometimes. and they dont seem to like change much especially when its their living situation. It could just be that the cat is nervous and still warming up to his new home and his new roommates (you!).

i know its easy to get mad at the animal cuz they hissed or bit but if the cat was spooked or stressed can you really blame him? they do things like that out of animal instinct and protection, cant really get too annoyed, IMO

but def keep an eye on your bite b/c of the nerve thing. and i use spray bottles as well. harmless and effective

I'm sorry you got bit. Im so surprised, I have two Persians and they really are loveable cats, not violent. I agree with the other girls and think he just needs to adjusted since he had that long trip.
