met with someone yesterday who was going to do our invitations ... i was sooo frustrated by the end. We looked through a gazillion books and all of the invites look pretty similar. Then we found ones we like but they were $3.50 each (including everything) which is not much but it's more than i want to spend. it just seems so silly since nobody looks at them for more than 5 seconds. bleh!

I got mine form Vponsale. I know how you feel and their prices were great and every one loved my invites.

Re: i hate invitations
check online at some of the manufacturers direct. It stinks because you'll have to assemble most of them on your own, but it will definitely be a ton cheaper. i got mine from rexcraft, but i checked out finestationery.com hellolucky.com has really cute too. and there's always wedding paper divas, and theirs don't require a ton of assembly. most offer a sample you can get, i know rexcraft does x amt free and fine stationery, depending on the card, there is a small fee. just something to think about. I sat down with FH last night and knocked ours out in like 3 hours for 125 of them, which wasn't terrible because we had like 6 pcs per card.

Re: i hate invitations
they all have great selections and the bonus of the samples is awesome. i looked at it this way, i spent maybe $20 on samples from like 12 different sites, found what i wanted, googled a coupon and got them out of the way. rexcraft happened to have a 15% that week, so i saved like $80 on them. and you can do it at your own leisure, not with a planner or some salesperson breathing down your neck waiting for you to make a decision or upsell you to something you really don't like. these were great as well: http://www.theamericanwedding.com/ http://www.invitationsbydawn.com/samples-1-800-361-1974.shtml
if i think of any others i used, i'll post them for you too. i went through so many. there was even one that was all natural handmade paper and cardstock that was gorgeous, but a little out of budget for us and i had it in my head that i wanted copper invitations.

Re: i hate invitations
i used rexcraft in the end, but they all had gorgeous stuff. i found fine stationery to have a much wider variety. my only gripe was almost all my response enveloped had a cut mark on them, but they were great to respond and they're rush shipping replacements out for me. i ended up there because i really wanted a copper and they seemed to be the only ones that had it, even though i'm usually a sucker for letterpress. nothing was jumping out at me for fall.
