I had an interview last week and get this I got a rejection letter by EMAIL! yes email. I got it this morning.
Here is the letter
Thank you for taking the time to speak with me last week regarding the Administrative opening with ETC.
Unfortunately, although we were impressed by your qualifications, we chose another candidate whose skill set best met our needs for this particular position.
We have employment opportunities several times per year. I will keep your resume on file with the HR Department for the next year, and should a suitable position become available, we will be in touch.
Thanks for your interest and time.
I hate rejections
But I am not being too discouraged....Just brushing it off...

Re: i hate job interview rejection letters....
Talk about unclassie. I can not believe that they would send a rejection letter by e-mail. I guess regular mail is to slow to send a rejection letter. Don't worry something better will come along. Did Brian hear anything yet?

Re: i hate job interview rejection letters....
thanks
I agree I do prefer the letters better then the dreaded mysterious silence.
I interviewed with a company about a month ago and heard nothing. When we ended the interview I was given the ok we'll call you next week.
I hate when companies dont send you anything.

Re: i hate job interview rejection letters....
The transfer letters are starting to go out today.
I dont know if they are mass mailing all of them or if they are just sending them out alphabetical by airport, by last name, i have no idea.
i wish i had some sort of knowledge at how these are going out.
When we go in June, he's also taking the sherifs test this way its a back up in case the transfer doesnt work out.

Re: i hate job interview rejection letters....
hey Chippa
I am a fellow job searcher and a former HR person. It might have been a standard rejection letter that everyone got, even if it was via e-mail.. besides you may have been the runner up but the other person accepted a lower salary! Ya never know.
Good luck

I'm so sorry Melissa I know how you feel. I've gotten my share of them. But look what happened, when I LEAST expected it I got an offer. So don't worry, you will find something! Everything happens for a reason Melissa! If I hear of anything, I will let you.

Re: i hate job interview rejection letters....
chippa~ Reading the letter made me cringe! You should not want to work with people who sound so dumb! The gramatical errors are plenty. Who ever wrote it either doesn't care or is too stupid to care. Either way, you are better off. I only noticed this b/c my mother is a teacher and drilled proper grammar into me (not like I type/speak it perfectly) but I do notice when others mess up. I can always hear my mother's voice saying 'it's not ____ it's _____. Now learn it and remember it!' I'm now a teacher too, but in the younger grades so you hear mistakes all the time and promotes my own incompitance.
Not claiming to be perfect or anything, but they better rethink that letter!
