I hate my real estate lady!!!

So Fh and I put in an offer on a co-op and it got accepted a little less than 2 weeks ago. We were SOOO

We were supposed to go in to sign the contract today.. and we get a call from the real estate lady saying someone else put in a much higher bid and they are going to take that!!

***?!?!?!

I know we haven't signed.. but we were signing TODAY!

Plus.. we were using the listing agent.. and the owner moved to the west coast.. so the agent had the keys.. they could have said 'Sorry they are going to contract' or 'Sorry there is already an accepted offer we aren't showing that apt'

When we were previously looking..we got those 2 answers from many agents when the apts we liked were already being sold!!!

I am SO mad!

this happened with a house we liked! it turned out, there was no other offer and the real estate lady was just trying to get us to up our price so she could make more money!

we retracted our bid bc of many reasons she was very unprofessional and after all the drama, we decided we didnt like the house enough to have to go past our budget, especially with this crappy market.

the house ended up staying on the market for 3 more months and was sold for less than we offered...

in the end, we were better off! the commute would have killed me!

hahaha I'm glad it worked out for you in the end.. I totally understand about a long commute. and it's real estate agents like THAT that make people think all agents are shady... not nice honest people like Marybeth

of course, not Marybeth...

just really be knowledgeable about the market, thats my tip. They see future newlyweds and they think they can take advantage.
