At my externship, we all need to have a PPD test. I just went to our clinic to get one, and the nurse there was very nice, but seemed very inexperienced and nervous. She was unsure about the procedure, went to ask someone a question, then read the directions before giving me the shot! Oh, and she also said, 'I should probably put my glasses on.' I was like, 'yeah, I think that's a good idea!'
I'm not good at needles in the first place, and now I just feel like I'm gonna pass out...

Yeah, you never want to hear someone asking repeatedly how to stick a needle in you

I feel your pain. I too hate needles ... I cry and break out in sweats. Last Monday I had to get 4 shots for the honeymoon - FH discovered what a chicken I was!

That's so nerve wracking I'm very hard to tkae blood from and I hate it when they keep sticking and resticking me and have to ask other people, they're poking around under my skin and slapping my arm. That grosses me out so much and I have no prblem with needles since I have to get shots 3x a week and I LOVE acupuncture, but when people don't know what they're doing....ugh

i hate needles too! I use to not be so bad but last time at the doctors I almost passed out....

I so feel for you!
the last time I had to get a PPD test my DH had to SIT on MY lap and hold my arm out for the nurses (yes I require as many people in order for anyone to get remotely near me with a needle). He had to hold my arm tightly and I ended up biting his back so bad that he required the nurse to look at it.
Needless to say, I am due for one at the end of this year for my tenure physical and my DH and Dr. are not looking foward to it!

Two hours later, and I'm still nauseous and light headed!! What a psychological reaction...and I'm a psychologist!

PPD's hurt like hell! I hate getting them done! I can give needles but can't take em!
Drawing blood is a lot less painful than getting a PPD, if you have someone who knows how to do it right, you wont even feel it.
