Re: I hATE REGISTERING!!!!!!
Registering was such a pain! Although it was fun to pick some of the stuff out, we had a really difficult time, and are still looking for some stuff. We chose to use casual china instead of everyday dinnerware, it's Portmeirion 'Dawn'. You can see it on the macys website. We're having massive troubles choosing silverware still and bed linens. After a while, it all looks the same! Good luck!

Awwwww. . .Don't feel that way. One thing that the saleperson told me is that keep in mind that people will be buying you stuff up to 2 years after the wedding. Also, remember bridal showers, bachelorette parties, engagement gifts, etc.
Just scan EVERYTHING in sight!! That what I did!
Here are my everyday:
Don't forget to scan a few extras just in case a dish breaks!

Re: I hATE REGISTERING!!!!!!
Crate & Barrel had a special SUnday thing all during February but I am not sure if there are any more. The whole store was closed, they had champagne and breakfast stuff. Plus there were so many people around to help. Then to make it even better when you left they gave you a goody bag that had two champagne flutes in it. I Love Crate and Barrell.

Re: I hATE REGISTERING!!!!!!
I hated it too the first time that I went. I made a few mistakes though. I expected to be able to go and register for everything on my first try. After coming close to having a break-down over what flatware set to choose, I decided to give up. Since the first day, I have done the registering in bits and pieces, sometime by visiting the stores (BBB and Macy's) and sometimes online. It has worked out much better this way, because I feel like I am making an informed decsion about my choices and I do not feel rushed.
The second mistake I made on my first registry attempt was bringing FH with me. Big mistake. I was looking for input and opinions that he simply did not have and it turned into a fight. I have since done some registering alone and with friends (who ARE interested) and that has been a much more pleasent experience.

Re: I hATE REGISTERING!!!!!!
Hi guys, I hated it the first time we went to Macys' but went back on my own to choose my China and then felt a little better about it. I will definitly have to check out Crate and Barrel since I received absolutely no help at Macys.

Re: I hATE REGISTERING!!!!!!
FI and I are going to try to register today at Crate and Barrel. This is our first attempt at registering and our wedding is in four months! I hope this doesn't turn out into a full-blown war! I'll let you know what happened upon our return! Wish us luck!

Re: I hATE REGISTERING!!!!!!
it was tough to pick out a casual setting for us...but I love the one we have...Its a little on the expensive side...but I love them so much...they were the third set I picked out...and unfortunately you can only order them online
If you get something you don't like afterall...you can always return...at BBB and Fortunoffs you can return for cash!!!

Re: I hATE REGISTERING!!!!!!
We put off registering for a while because we thought it would be really overwhelming, but it wasn't bad at all. We registered at Carate and Barrel and Macy's. Me and FH went together to get started and then I went back with my mom to finish it up. I've also been adding things online, which is easier than going to the store.
No you are definitely not the only one. I absolutely hated it! I could not wait for it to be over. And as of last week its finally over. I cant even count how many times I went back because we could only do a few things at a time. I did get my everyday dishes in Crate and Barrel. They have a very big selection of dishes there.

Re: I hATE REGISTERING!!!!!!
I am with you, I felt weird the first time, selecting a list of things for people to buy me, plus FH have lived together for about 4 years, so we really have everything. Your not alone!

Re: I hATE REGISTERING!!!!!!
You are definitely not alone!! Everyone had told me how much fun it was going to be, and all I encountered was stress!!! It took several weeks, but I think we are finally all set- we had fallen in love with a set of everyday dishes- but they were just too expensive (even tho we didn't do fine china/silver) to justify, so we went with Sango Nova Blue at BBB. Then- we accidentally mult-registered for things- mostly gadgety kind of things at all three places. We ended up doing glassware at Crate and Barrel, towels, some appliances, and flatware, and luggage at Macys, and BBB for kitchen stuff, and bed and bath. I'm still spazzing over what pots to select!!! Good luck!!!!
