I hate saying this but....

the most stressful part of wedding planning for me has been dealing with the church. It feels like pulling teeth trying to get any information out of them. So frustrating!

What's the worst part for everyone else?

so funny you say this because I just complained to my mom about my church not getting back to me...

The church has definitely been difficult - it takes weeks for anyone to get back to me.

The caterer. We went for a tasting the second week in July and emailed our menu the next day. It took a month for them to get back to us (after many, many calls and emails). So frustrating.

Dealing with everyone who thinks their way is better than my way. It's my wedding people.

The guest list! And most recently our website- FFIL FLIPPED out because we didn't ask his permission on photo of him/FMIL!

The church! And I feel like they should be ashamed of how much they charge!

The church. Gave my FH and I a speech about living with each other before marriage for about 10 minutes. Then ended with calling us Pagans. We both left feeling like sh**.

I'd have to say trying to stay in budget is my biggest challenge then just recently I've had a 'hick-up' with the church and it's leaving me anxious :/

I'm so glad to hear I'm not alone with the church problems.

Yeahh...I actually decided not to have the wedding at my church bc they had way too many restrictions (aka no photography or videography AT ALL during the ceremony, no secular music, I had to use their organist AND florist, etc.)

We really would have liked to get married there, but it was just too much so we said, F- that! and are having the ceremony at the venue.

Ugh me too! I asked my mom to start calling bc I didn't want to say something I shouldn't to someone from the church!! I've been trying to find out if my cousin can sing the Beyonce version of Ave Maria and if I can have a guitar person instead of the organ!! I feel like between me and my mom we have called like 20x!

The guest lists!!!! I thought we decided on a number and for some reason FMIL is insistant on sending out additional invitations because most likely not all of her guests will be in attendance. If it is not a definite NO than you can not gauanrantee they will not show and that is another table and center piece added to our budget. I just don't get it!

If it wasn't for out parents insisting on the church, I would've got married at the venue.

I'm curious what churches you guys are using. I did have issues with them getting back to me in a timely manner, but I didn't have any issues with the people being rude. Our priest was WONDERFUL. I would recommend him to anyone. He really just made us feel included and he was so personable. He was great.

ETA: Our priest also called up our photographer to the altar and allowed him to take pictures of us while we were lighting the unity candle and other stuff - just so we would have those photographs as memories. There were absolutely no really ridiculous rules. Maybe it's just the church and/or the priest? I think things can vary from church to church.

But the guest list and the table seatings were annoying.
