but FH and I are paying for A LOT of the wedding, and I just have to ask.

Did anyone get $ at their shower? Or only gifts?

I would say about 1/4 of my gifts were either cash gifts or gift cards.

I got a little, but mostly gifts, but if you return to bed and bath and beyond and its off your registry you get cash.

i got a few checks.. and LOTS of gift cards... but we also got lots of gifts... everyone treated us really well

I got all gifts but had a SUPER small shower. I also got WAY less money than I expected at the wedding so I might just warn not to expect that the $$ gifts will really defray your wedding costs. . I know others have had very different experiences but my cash was like 1/15 of my total budget so. .

Out of 56 guests I got two gift cards, no cash. Well I got $100 from FMIL because she wanted to take me shopping for something for my honeymoon but we never found the time. But thats it.
