I *HATE* the place where I bought my gown ** UPDATE **

I HATE THEM. Ok, so I ordered all of my items 6/1/07. A YEAR AGO. Yes, my wedding isnt 'til october... I ordered it early so that I could check everything before hand... So, initially they ordered my fingertip length veil in the correct color, but my cathedral lenght in white! My gown is ivory. So, they had to reorder. This was after my gown came in THREE MONTHS later than they promised. I was told the veil would be in in May. I just called. I explained the situation, and the woman was SO RUDE TO ME.

Me: 'Hi. I'm calling to check on the status of my cathedral veil. I was told to call in May b/c it was originally ordered in the wrong color and I'd like to look at it if it is in to make sure its right.'

Her: 'Who IS this?' RUDE. Is that how you talk to a customer? A customer who dropped 2k in your store????

Her again: 'Oh, actually it will be in the first week in June.' Yeah I'll believe that when I see it. I wouldnt trust them with alterations for a second - As soon as my cathedral veil is in, I'm taking everything to Angel Bridals in East Islip, where I SHOULD HAVE GONE IN THE FIRST PLACE.

*** UPDATE ***

So about an hour after my phone call, I get a call that my veil 'just came in.' Coincidence? Who knows. Anyhow, I just went down there to look at the veil, and its stunning and perfect, thank God. They were also super sweet to me, so now I'm just emotionally confused! Oh well, at least my veil has arrived safely and in the right color!

I'm so livid. I regret going there so much... I love my dress, but I'm sure that I could have gotten it elsewhere. They have the worst customer service ever... they were sweet as pie when I was trying on gowns, and as soon as we put down a desposit, they didnt give 2 sh*ts anymore! AWFUL. I would never recommend this store to anyone.

Since when did customer service go out the window?? I'm sorry your dealing with this...that really blows! Get your gown altered somewhere else...they sound like a bunch of jerks anyway!

my store is like that too...actually only the owner who alwaysss answers the phones. She is always flustered and rushed its annoying I hate to call there because of that. The girl who helped me is the best

i can not stand rude and nasty people like that- i was dealing with one at the store I purchased mine in- i dont know why there are so many other people I can deal with at that place and she always seems to be the one that is around- i finally got to a point where i yelled right back and she changed her tone immediately sometimes you have to go to their level

how rude and NASTY!!!!

take your dress and your money elsewhere for alterations.
make sure you make a point to tell them WHY you are leaving their store (once your dress and veils are in your hand of course!)

I am just sooooo nervous Heather about when my gown comes in. They said it should be in in June. So most likely the second week of June I will be calling to see if it came in. I want to know an exact date if possible when it should be shipped. I just hope they didn't wait to order it because I still had 13 months at the time till my wedding.

But I am thinking maybe I wont even take the chance once it comes in and I will bring it to Angels Bridal. Since my cousins know Rosemary as well maybe she will let me alter it there.

get everything in writing. if they were supposed to have it ready on a certain date, description of everything to be delivered, and amount paid and it's all in writing it's probably breach of contract if it's not, unless you signed off on something saying otherwise or if you didn't do something (eg pay on time, not that you didn't but then they could say you breached first).

in any case, get something from them with a due date. then you always have a recourse, e.g. to get someone to fight it on your behalf, like Amex . document all the conversations and with whom. preferably follow up with email restating your conversation and what you expect, e.g. delivery date and description.



sorry you're having a vendor treat you like this. it's like once they get that ton o' doe you hand over they're doing you a favor.
