I HATE the place where I bought my gown UPDATE

I HATE THEM. Ok, so I ordered all of my items 6/1/07. A YEAR AGO. Yes, my wedding isnt 'til october... I ordered it early so that I could check everything before hand... So, initially they ordered my fingertip length veil in the correct color, but my cathedral lenght in white! My gown is ivory. So, they had to reorder. This was after my gown came in THREE MONTHS later than they promised. I was told the veil would be in in May. I just called. I explained the situation, and the woman was SO RUDE TO ME.

Me: 'Hi. I'm calling to check on the status of my cathedral veil. I was told to call in May b/c it was originally ordered in the wrong color and I'd like to look at it if it is in to make sure its right.'

Her: 'Who IS this?' RUDE. Is that how you talk to a customer? A customer who dropped 2k in your store????

Her again: 'Oh, actually it will be in the first week in June.' Yeah I'll believe that when I see it. I wouldnt trust them with alterations for a second - As soon as my cathedral veil is in, I'm taking everything to Angel Bridals in East Islip, where I SHOULD HAVE GONE IN THE FIRST PLACE.

*** UPDATE ***

So about an hour after my phone call, I get a call that my veil 'just came in.' Coincidence? Who knows. Anyhow, I just went down there to look at the veil, and its stunning and perfect, thank God. They were also super sweet to me, so now I'm just emotionally confused! Oh well, at least my veil has arrived safely and in the right color!

i know where you are talking about bc i got mine there too. i am going for my first fitting tomorrow bc i will be away for most of june. i am soooo nervous. they are so sweet and totally up your A$$ when you are trying on gowns. once i ordered, they dropped any and all interest in me. i am really dreading doing the fittings and alterations there. i will see how it goes tomorrow. if they treat me like crap, im outtie.

I am just sooooo nervous Heather about when my gown comes in. They said it should be in in June. So most likely the second week of June I will be calling to see if it came in. I want to know an exact date if possible when it should be shipped. I just hope they didn't wait to order it because I still had 13 months at the time till my wedding.

But I am thinking maybe I wont even take the chance once it comes in and I will bring it to Angels Bridal. Since my cousins know Rosemary as well maybe she will let me alter it there.

I'm taking mine there. I wish I would have gone to Rosemary to begin with! I just felt bad b/c I hadn't seen her in awhile. Now I really really regret it. I'm just so glad that I got my mom's dress and my girls dresses there, b/c they came in no problem. They're awesome there. She todl me I could bring my dress there for storage/alterations.

I'm glad you love your dress but you're right and unfortunately it sounds like they put people on the pay no mind list once they have their money.......

I would definitely call tomorrow or after you feel a little calmer and speak with the manager.

I got my dress at the same place. I wrote the other day that I called to check on the status of my dress and apparently my BM dresses are in, but they don't call to tell you that. They send you a postcard 2 months before to call for fittings. And for bridal gowns I can't come in and see it when it comes in b/c they don't want to take it out of storage. I'll have to call and ask the manager and you bet your AZZ I'll be calling for that. Plus, I had to ask her to put it in the computer to call me when my dress comes in, not just send me a postcard in August!

I've heard their alterations are good though. I haven't had any problems with them up until now. That really P.O.ed me!!!

Its a dumb policy.

I really am sorry that it didn't work out with that place- they have no right to treat ANYONE like that- people spend so much money in one sitting at any given bridal shop that we should all be treated like royalty and they need to act professionally at all times.

I ordered my gowns at the same place as you and **knock on wood** i've had quite the opposite experience. I was there last night and they were really great. We ordered 18 gowns total from there and they are all in. Who are you dealing with there (FM) cause everyone there seems to be idiots except this one lady...she has even told me this. I was ready to beat someone originally because they wanted to order my friend who is a 0 in pants and an extra small in shirts a dress in a size 12. Now when i call i specifically ask for her. If she isnt in, i dont speak to anyone else. They definitely do have some snotty girls working in there. Believe it or not, their alterations seem good. We had three dresses altered so far and they came out perfectly. As for trying on your dress once, they let me try mine on a second time they told me all i have to do is call them a day or 2 before because they have to get it out of storage. HTH

Definitely take your stuff to Angel Bridal...I've ordered everything from there - even my bridesmaid dresses that they didn't carry - and everyone there has been overly sweet. They've gone out of their way for us...I'm sure they would be happy to help you

i can kinda of relate to you. it was a complete run around when they couldn't find my dress. but everything was fine. now i have my first fitting on 6/2 and i'm a little nervous

Heather that just s-ucks!!! It's amazing how once people have your money they feel they can treat you horribly! Definitely go to Angel's. Rosemary is the best. Love love love working with her.

Im sorry they are being rude to you! That succks!!

You know I got my dress there and they were good, except for some bait and switch issues w/ the designer of the dress.

I HAVE heard of snippiness w/ this place though and it's BS. The alts were good w/ me and they did a lot of alts. but I agree w/ you to take it somewhere else for alts if they are being DB's though. Esp. if you know them.

I'm curious..Who did you talk to..FM me.

If all else fails- we will go down there and take care of it Sluunt style (whatever that is)

I can't believe they told you you could only see it once. that is BS!!! I'm glad your veil came in and it's in good condition.

I'd like to know the nice person you spoke to also??
