I hate to be a baby but…(long)

I hate to be a baby but…(long)

I am upset about my bachelorette party.
I only have two BMs. I picked my little sister as my MOH because, well she’s my sister and my best friend is my other BM.

I live in Los Angeles, my sister goes to college in DC and my best friend is in NY.
My sister was supposed to organize my bachelorette party. I am going to be in NY Memorial Day weekend for my shower. I told her that I wanted a low key dinner for friends (guys and girls) and then go out for drinks in the city. I hardly see my friends in NY, since I moved out to LA and I miss them so much. My sister is graduating college this weekend, so she has been really busy the past couple of weeks.

I spoke to her today and she hasn’t done anything to organize it and she tells me that she is going to Florida next week so she won’t have time to do anything. I was annoyed, but at the same time I understand that she has a life as well.

My best friend said she would organize it for me, but she is also engaged, and dealing with her own wedding stuff in addition to working and going to grad school. I know she is swamped. She is throwing me my shower and helping me with slipper baskets and a bunch of other stuff. She is a saint.

Is it bad if I invite people to my own bachelorette party? Or should I just handle the arrangements myself and ask my best friend to send out the invites?

Maybe send out an e-vite instead of a formal invite in the mail. My sister just did this for me and it worked out great. You can give your friend all the email addresses and it only takes a few minutes to set up. Just pick the place and the time and send out the e-vite.

For my bach. party. all of my friends met up at my apt. first, then we went to Viva Juan's in Centerport for dinner and drinks. It was tons of fun and it was so good to have everyone there. I didn't want anything fancy or complicated. Just a good time with my friends.

I don't think it's a problem to organize and invite people to your bachelorette party! I am doing mine, only b/c I knoew the headache 2 of my BMs gave my MOH in planning my shower. If you know it's going to be easier for you and you'll know it will get done, I say do it yourself!

I'd love to organize my own bachelorette party! I'm a little bit of a control freak, and love to organize outings. It's going to be difficult for me when this time comes around ... I trust my friends, but still, planning is my thing.

Just think about it - you get to do whatever you want! How great is that!!!
