Jesus H Chri$t, don't they realize that people work, and can't come in for something that might be out of their price range????
RRRRGH!
I'm specifically speaking about the rude woman I spoke to at Royalty Limosines, who was rushing me off the phone, and told me that I'd have to come in! YOU ARE NOT GETTING MY BUSINESS!

IMO, vendors that won't quote you over the phone are over-priced to begin with. Excellent way to weed them out.

Re: ***! I hate vendors who don't....
dont worry... a friend had a bad experience with them, so you are better off without!! When it came time to tip the driver, the driver said it wasnt enought of a tip!! Can you believe that! and the driver messed up a whole bunch of times at that... he was lucky to even get a tip!

Re: ***! I hate vendors who don't....
I had one vendor, a catering hall, refuse to give me a price range. When I finally pointed out that he might be too expensive for me, and why waste my time and his time with an appt. if he was, he asked what my budget per head was. Cheesy, and needless to say, I didn't use him. Most vendors are good about offering a range or average price though.

Not always true, a lot of vendors call their competition posing as brides just to find out their info....

I booked royalty and they gave me a quote over the phone...basically their quote is what their website says their prices are and what they do is the cut the price when you go in there to book with them...that is how it worked out for me...Sorry you had a bad experience with them

well so far, only 1 vendor has refused to give me a quote over the phone - Flowers by Brian. And then I found out he was VERY expensive anyway.

I've had nothing but great experiences with Royalty - we booked them for my wedding (yes - they quoted us over the phone), my brother booked them for his wedding, and my best friend booked them for hers. Nothing but rave reviews. The drivers were courteous, arrived early and were wonderful.
Please try to remember that there ARE brides here that may be using the vendors you are 'ranting' about.

They were rude to me and my husband when we stopped in, after that I knew I was not booking with them.

We had a similar experience. Went with All Star instead. Much more professional!

Re: ***! I hate vendors who don't....
Try this one -- have your FH call. It sounds awful and it is, but he was able to strong arm some vendors into quoting us prices over the phone where I wasn't -- no matter how many times I called back!!! He even got prices over the phone out of some halls!

you can't judge a book by its cover...
i.e. just becaues you have a price doesn't mean they are overchargin...they may (or maynot) have a qauilty product

I know what you mean... My photographers didn't give me a quote over the phone and my reception hall refused to check the availability of my date over the phone.
This last vendor bothered me because we live almost an hour away. Were we supposed to travel all the way there, just for the lady to check if my date was available?
But we liked our reception hall, so we ended up taking the trip there. Thank goodness our date was available and our trip was worth it.

Re: ***! I hate vendors who don't....
I'm a lawyer and I give my prices over the phone, which most don't. I don't really care if my competitors know my prices because I know that they also know the quality of my work. Throughout my wedding planning, I have paid close attention to how the vendors treat me and I'm dealing with people whose business style is similar to my own.
