***! I hate vendors who don't....

give prices/packages over the phone!

Jesus H Chri$t, don't they realize that people work, and can't come in for something that might be out of their price range????

RRRRGH!

I'm specifically speaking about the rude woman I spoke to at Royalty Limosines, who was rushing me off the phone, and told me that I'd have to come in! YOU ARE NOT GETTING MY BUSINESS!

When it comes to flowers, photography and reception halls sometimes they really can't quote you over the phone. There are too many details to go over and most of the time your price is customized to your needs. When I booked these vendors i sat down with them for over an hour going over what I wanted. In the case of limos, bands, DJ's where you need there services for a certain amount of time I don't see why they don't quote over the phone. As far as availability, anyone who will not tell you if they are available or not for your date is simply not up for discussion. Just scratch them off the list. How RUDE!!!

I had that same problem. I then when I tried to set up an appt , no one called me back.
I was planning from Westchester, so it even more frustrating, b/c even vendors in Nassau were an hour away from.

I used All Star & they quoted either over the phone or via email & they were excellent to work with.

I understand comign in for certain things, like flowers, but limos? I just didn't have time for that.

I also had a bad experience wth Royalty Limo that I posted on here last week. There was no kind of 'good service' about them, it was all very lame I think. I'd like someone to try to actually make me want to use them, not expect that just because I came down there, they can treat me like garbage and then expect me to book them. They really don't seem to care about potential customers.

I just called them and they did give me a quote over the phone. But I'm very suspicious! They told me only $175 for a 14 passenger shuttle for 2 hours and they'll make as many trips as necessary. But it seems many people weren't very happy with them!

Who'd you speak to? When I called yesterday, the woman refused, and said 'you have to come down here.'

I didn't get his name (a woman answered and she passed me off to a man) b/c he ended up kinda rushing me off the phone. And he said he would call me back in a few minutes and I haven't heard from him yet.

IMO, vendors that won't quote you over the phone are over-priced to begin with. Excellent way to weed them out.

Not always true, a lot of vendors call their competition posing as brides just to find out their info....

well so far, only 1 vendor has refused to give me a quote over the phone - Flowers by Brian. And then I found out he was VERY expensive anyway.

...a used car dealership.

I don't understand, a used car dealership doesn't give prices....or they call their competition? My brain's a little fried today...sorry.

Re: ***! I hate vendors who don't....

I used Royalty - I had a great experience, with a wonderful driver and I did not tip above what they already charged me (the 20% gratuity in the contract.) Most of my halls would give me a range over the phone, but I had a specific date and time.

The ones I got most frustrated with were the DJs. As someone else mentioned, their service and prices should be similar, regardless of the date and time. I had DJ companies telling me that I had to come in and talk to someone and they could show me their video, blah, blah, blah. My approach with them was if you can't at least give me a ballpark or a range over the phone or by email, I can't be bothered.
