I hate Victoria's Secret commercials!!

When I moved to NYC I was 117 lbs size 8 at 5ft 3, this was when I wasn't really eating much, didnt really care to because of IBS. Then IBS struck me hard. I gained 20 in less than a month.

I am hovering close to 140 and feel like the pig I mentioned before *oink* but the good news is i still have my 29 inch waist. My blood pressure has always been low I think Im still close to 90/60. But that apparently is normal for me.

I am not really into bashing my own self image too much except for jest, but honestly.. my thighs *argh* !!! I’ve been in Physical Therapy on and off for over two years. You’d think some of it would shed.

The PT guy got me from 60 to 100 lbs press on my legs (thighs) in less than 5 visits. I have no problem working out, but still thunder thighs persist.

I know a lot of these pictures are fake...an old coworker of mine's son used to do the graphic work on pictures...shaving skin off...think Kate winslet's magazine drama (good for her!!)


but why would ad agencies do that? why do we need to see fake people? why do we say that unnatural graphically altered pictures are 'perfect'

it just makes no sense and makes me so sad...

OK, have any of you ever actually watched them walk? They look like ostriches, flamingos or giraffes (I can't quite figure out which one yet, but gimme time). They don't walk like normal human beings, and I think it looks so stupid. Who walks like that? Granted, I'd kill to weigh what they weigh at 5'10', but I'm only 5'3', so that would be about right for me.

But think of this: how many of the supermodels or VS models are married? Being gorgeous does not guarantee that you'll be able to attract Mr. Right. Maybe Mr. Money Bags, but not necessarily Mr. Right.

Because if we wanted to see real, we could look in the mirror!

Honestly, as much as we love the men in the CK underwear ads, do we really want to wake up to them every day? Veg on the couch in pj's with them after a tough week? Well, maybe some of us do! But as much as I like to look and make comments, I'd take my real guy any day ! And I'm sure they feel the same way.

It's a fantasy, that's all. We should feel good about ourselves the way we are!

I think Victoria's Secret is that no one actually looks like that in her clothes.
