I hate when people....

talk *** about your RH after they know you have already booked it!!!!

Last night I am at work and a girl I work with asked me how planning was going. I said 'GREAT! we booked at JT...how I love it and so on'... then she proceedes to tell me how her sister was married there in November and all the things they didn't like about the place... HELLO?? I just told you I am getting married there, in other words, the most important day of my life is going to take place there AND I just committed to spending 10's of thousands of dollars there and your gonna talk **** about it!!! I was so MAD!




Anyone else wanna vent on this or a similar experience today????

That's super annoying....I mentioned it to someone that I booked Crest Hollow and they go 'Oh, that's interesting'. Interesting?? What??

I like to know what things people don't like about a place so I can discuss them in advance with my Maitre 'D or Banquet Manager.

Perhaps you can do something in advance to ensure these things don't upset your guests as well.

But it needs to be done appropriately. Launching into a tirade about how much you hate the place really isn't the way to do it. Saying something like 'oh, my sister got married there and we thought the service was lacking and they should have had more busboys'....or something like that is a better way to approach it.

i had the same thing happen to me at work too and bout my RH! it got so outta hand, i had to pull them to the side and let them know they were outta line

I totally see that upsetting you. At least if they thought that they could MAYBE say it in a nicer way or whatever.

I hate it when people ask me how much i'm paying for my hall cuz it's known to be an expensive place. On here i didn't mind cuz people were just trying to figure things out for themselves also. But random friends? I feel like thats just totally rude. I'm getting a crazy price because my boss is friends with the owner and was told a million times to not tell anyone the price but i never really thought people would ocme out and ask, 'so, how much are you paying'.

i mean to each their own. but if i didnt like where someone was getting married... i would keep it to myself... not tell people. thats pretty rude

im not gonna lie... there are RHs on Long Isalnd that i dont like... but i would never rip them apart to someone that just booked there. on this site.. .when someone talks about a RH that i dont like... i simply dont comment.

I get it too. NRC is kind of new, and it's hidden off of Jericho Turnpike, so most people don't know about it. Which is actually something I love about it, since most of my guests have never been to a wedding there. I haven't gotten the 'is it nice' question, probably b/c my friends and family know I wouldn't pick crap.

i know how you feel. a lot of brides on here will bash an RH meanwhile there are lots of other girls who have booked there... i feel like if you have opinions then just keep them to yourself.

ETA: my FH totally embarrassed me one day.. my sister's friend told us she booked an an RH that i didn't like.. and he goes 'oh yeah, Jen hated that place!' needless to say, i kicked him and got mad at him

OMG..I hate that too...my worst experience actually came from a couple of ladies on this site. When I posted where I was getting married a few of them proceeded to tell me 'oh that place is nice but the food *****'...how rude....everyone has the right to their own opinion but why would you make a comment about it after you see that I'm getting married there and I'm excited about it. Anther lady said that she thought about getting married there but the location was awful...I guess some people don't care about other's people's feelings....

I HATE that! I try to be really nice and give my opinion respectfully...I would NEVER tell someone that any part of their RH or any vendor ******. Someone FMed me with dj quotes and I replied 'that sounds great, but it's more than we can afford.' They replied 'Oh...if you're willing to sacrifice on music then I can't help you.' HOW RUDE!

Don't let one stupid person ruin the great choice that you made! We booked JT and have only heard great things about it... People I know that have been married there loved it and all the people that have been guests at weddings there raved about it b4 they even heard about us booking there so no worries...
