my dress is strapless, I have a tattoo on my elbow (wich I love) and I am having an Interfaith marriage w/ both a Deacon and Cantor.
Will I have to wear gloves to cover it up? Should I let the Cantor know before the big day?
Not sure how to go about this. I love my tattoo. Both FH and myself got the same ones in the same spot after we were engaged. I love, it is apart of me, us. Should I have to hide it?

Of course you shouldn't have to hide it. It's your wedding, you shouldn't have to do anything you don't want. If you love it, flaunt it!!

I personally don't think you should HAVE to hide it. I guess your best bet is to tell them that you have the tatoo and that it will be exposed during the ceremony.

you can keep it showing if you want!!! its special to you both why would you want to hide it!
if you choose to hide it you can get some sort of tattoo covering makeup stuff.. google it ive seen it a few places i just forget where

I have a large tattoo on my shoulder blade and I didn't hide it.
ETS: I bought the tattoo cover up kit and it was a waste of money IMHO. You could still see the tat a little bit and you could see the raised skin. Plus, the make up would get all over your dress.

You might want to run it by the cantor know ahead of time. Hopefully it won't be a problem, but worse case, you could cover it for the ceremony but still wear it proudly at the reception.

I agree! You shouldnt have to hide it if you love it. But check with the cantor. Worse case, you can ask your makeup person if she/he can cover it up. My makeup artist does..Marie Katz--she is a vendor on here and she does tattoo cover ups

My mother has a BIG problem with the fact that I have my FH's name on my back I definitely have to get this covered up on the big day!

Don't hide it- tell the officiants if you want but that shouldnt be a concern...what are they of? Can't really see in the pics

well, since the cantor is participating with a clergy member of another faith in an interfaith wedding, she/he should be liberal enough to not let a tatoo bother her/him.

i have two full sleeves of tattoos, there is no way i could ever cover all that up without looking silly or ruining my dress with make up. i saw be proud, if ya got it, flaunt it!!! yay!!!!

i actually checked with my rabbi before i got my tattoo- he said it was fine-- My dad also talked to an orthodox rabbi who also said it was fine- I think the whole non-tattoo thing is way exagerated- I would not worry about it at all.
