I have a BIG question..need advice..

I have a BIG question..need advice..

So, when I ordered my dress I was 21 pounds heavier.

The sample size was a 10, and way too small. I was told I would need a 16. I ordered a 14. Last time I went in, the 10 closed. It was too small, but it shut. They told me I was exactly a 14. I have lost 7 more pds since then. I am starting to buy regular pants in an 8. I plan on losing at least another 10-15 pds.
My dress is supposed to be in in July- should I try to change it to a 12?? Is that even possible? I do not want my dress to be so big on me that they can't alter it without changing it. The bead work is in a pattern that would look bad if they had to remove part of it.

i would call the dress maker or tailor and explain the situation. im sure they deal with these sitautions all the time and would know best. in my opinion you can always get it tailored smaller, not larger

I ordered it form a bridal suite. They keep telling me to get the bigger ones, but I don't know if I should believe them. If I went with what they say, I would have a 16.

I have work ALL over my dress.... The seamstress told me not to worry - I could lose as much weight as I wanted to, and she would take care of it!

She had one bride 2 summers ago, and she had lost over 100 pounds!!!!! The dress looked amazing on her & just as natural as when it had first come in!

Stephanie,

First congrats on the weight loss!!!

When I tried on the sample of my dress in January the sample which was a size 12 closed but was snug. They ordered me a 14. I have lost more weight since then and I am now wearing 10's & 12's. I am still trying to lose more weight. My dress will be in in June and at that point I will just try to maintain my weight. When I asked the store if the 14 could be made a 12 the woman said the 14 could be made a 6. So far since the middle of June I have lost 38.25 pounds. Still would like to lose another 10 pounds at least.

I don't know if you could change the size of the dress at this point. You could call the store & ask and talk to them about your concern and see what they say.

Good Luck!

Jodi
