I'm terrified of going for my first fitting and have been totally putting it off. Has anyone else ever felt like this? I know I am being ridiculous but I am really worried the dress won't fit and I just don't know what to do. They ordered the dress a little smaller than I was at the time and although I have lost weight I'm pacnicked it won't be enough. This is supposed to be the best part and I am so upset.
My first fitting is 10/14...only 4 weeks before my wedding. Is this totally awful??

If you're really concerned about the dress fitting why don't you just go and visit your dress and try it on. You said you already lost weight so I'm sure you'll be fine. If it's a little tight just do the South Beach diet or something. You still have over two weeks.

You are not alone...I believe we all felt this way at this point..(at least I know I did). At my first fitting the dress was huge and I felt better. No matter what..just remember you will look beautiful!!!!! Enjoy this time..because it flies by so fast!!!
Another thing I wanted to say is..that without trying I lost weight , which I can only assume was because of all the running around I've been doing. At my 2nd fitting the lady looked at me like ***>>LOL!! So don't worry!!! You are going to be perfect!!

I had the same fears too that my dress wouldn't fit even though I was trying to lose weight. Phyllis at Bridal Elegance was wonderful, kept me calm and I had a wonderful fitting experience!

My first fitting was 5 weeks before my wedding, so you'll be fine, and I'm sure you will be gorgeous!

Girl.... go try on that dress! Don't do the fitting but go try it on!
Don't push this to the last minute. Things always come up. So don't put yourself in a situation when you may be against the wall.
Hang in there!!!!

Re: I have a confession to make...
I went through the same thing. Even though I knew my gown would fit because of the weight I lost, I still worried I would hate it on me. I was wrong! I fell in love with it all over again. I think it's stress that is making you feel that way. You'll love it and you will be beautiful!

Re: I have a confession to make...
You can always just go try your dress on now instead of waiting for the fitting. I was nervous too...but when I went in she had to take so much of the dress in. It will be fine. Just enjoy it.

Re: I have a confession to make...
Mine was four weeks before. I was about 2.5 inches from fitting though my measurements had not changed. They took it out at the seams. I was so worried about it that after fitting #1 I went to David's bridal and found a dress off the rack that fit well (it had a lace-up back and the length was too long). It was and still is my back up dress. The seamstresses really can do wonders. Good luck!

Re: I have a confession to make...
I was SO nervous before my first fitting. I was worried that the dress wouldn't fit b/c it had fit perfect in the waist when they ordered it and that's the first place I gain weight. But everything went fine. Don't worry! I agree that you could go and visit the dress and put it on to see how it fits. If it's still a little snug, you have time to lose a few pounds. But I'm sure it will be fine!

Re: I have a confession to make...
don't worry, sweetie!!! i think it is just the stress getting to you - it happens to all of us. i was worried before i went for my fitting too... but when i tried it on, it fit just as a had remembered. i have my 2nd fitting this sat and am nervous it will be too tight; but i think it's just because the wedding is getting so close and i'm worried about everything. the closer it gets, the more you stress - it's natural. but try not to worry, 4 weeks is PLENTY of time and your dress will fit and look beautiful!!

I went through the EXACT same thing!! Don't worry....it will fit!!! I didn't lose weight, that was why I was panicking, only inches and the dress fit perfectly. Please don't lose any more sleep over it, you will be beautiful!!!
