I have a goldfish question... (can't believe I'm asking this...)

I have a fish - its about 4or 5 years old. It just got a red bloody looking bump on its head.

I've never seen anything like it - and you cant exactly take them to the vet - I am going to the pet shop tomorrow to buy something - I was just curious if anyone has actually run into this before?
I feel so bad for the little guy - help please...

one of my fish has this - it doesnt seem to bother him. but check at the fish store - i am sure someone there will know.

the only thing i ever had with a goldfish is when i brought in a new fish who ate out my goldfish's eyes!!!! so i flushed them both alive... i dont know why i did that.
