I have a messload of questions...

I have a messload of questions...

1) Went to Lord & Taylor on Friday to find WHITE SATIN shoes...UNSUCCESSFUL...they had Capparo's (which is what I want) but they were all Silver, Black, Gold, or CREME!!!!!! Where can I buy Capparo's in WHITE????

2) Do registry cards only go in Shower invitations or are they put in Wedding invitations as well?

3) Do I HAVE to use inner envelopes for everyone? I've addressed the invites as Mr. and Mrs. Joe Blog and they're the only ones invited, so I didn't want to include an inner envelope. However, when I invited Ms. Josephine Blogger, I would use the inner envelope to address: Ms. Blogger and Guest. Or, when I addressed the outter to Mrs. and Mrs. Joe Blog, I address the inner envelope as Mrs. and Mrs. Blog, Mikey, Sammy, and Catrina (the children)....is this okay?

4) I've found the ribbon I want to use w/my invitations, here's a pic - it's really hard to see, but it's a think silk organza in a light creme, that picks up the color of whatever it's background is. Should I have it vertically lined up inside where it would come through the front through slits at the top and bottom and then closed with a label? or....should I have it as it is in the picture below, coming through the sides, and closing in the front across with the label?

5) We're going for tuxedos this week. FI is going to be in white, Groomsmen in creme (to match the BM's) and then the Best Man in Gold. Is it okay to put the Dad's, Ushers, Jr. GM, and ring bearer in the gold as well, or should I choose a different color for them completely?

6) MOH is wearing the same dress in the same color as the BM's. How can we have her stand out? We're already going to get her a different bok in a different color and bigger than the other BM's...any other suggestions?

7) We have to get shawls for the BM's...b/c the church wants all the ladies shoulder's covered. Has anyone see some organza/sheer shawls around? Any color suggestions? Here's the dress in this color:

8) We're planning on inviting the Priest ONLY to the Rehersal Dinner that we're having at my house. Should we invite him to the Reception as well? The one extra person won't kill us, but we didn't know how he'd get there and back.

Okay, think I'm doing with questions for now!

Re: I have a messload of questions...

1. I would check zappos.com and shoebuy.com or even Macy's. I also had a hard time finding white shoes. I think because everything is the Winter stock right now. Wait until the Spring lines start coming in (Late Feb - early March) and there should be no shortage of white shoes then.

2. They go with the shower invite.

5. I had the same dilemma as you. I'm putting FH in platinum or white, Groomsmen in red / burgundy, and the fathers in black to differentiate them.

6. Maybe get a nice hair clip or comb for the MOH to wear? Or a flower in her hair or a nice brooch on the dress?

Re: I have a messload of questions...

I will answer what I can:

2) They just go inthe shower invitations

3) I think what you're doing sounds just fine! You don't have to do it for everyone.

4) I really like the way that it looks in the picture. The ribbon is so pretty.

5) This is personal preference. If you want to see them in the gold, then go with that. But if you really want to differentiate Best Man then pick another color. I think everyone in gold would look great.

6) If you get all of the girls jewelry maybe you can find a more elaborate piece for her? That's tough.

8) I don't think that it's necessary to invite the Priest - if he's a family friend, then it's a different story but I don't think that you have to.

#2 - shower only

#3 - I am not doing an inner envelope so all 'and guest' will go on the outer envelope since I don't have a choice. What you are planning sounds fine

#4 - it looks soooo pretty as is - you did an awesome job

#5 - we are letting his Dad choose whatever he wants to wear (as long as it is not silver to match FH). Could be a thought...

#6 - goes with #7 - maybe a different color shawl

#8 - we are having 2 priests officiate and are only inviting 1 (who we know very well) to the reception

HTH!

Answers:

1. Sorry, have no clue, but I'd keep checking online.

2. No registry cards in invitations, only for shower.

3. Inner envelopes are optional, but I'd say yes, use them for all invites.

4. I like the invite with the ribbons on the side, it's different and unique.

5. I'd have the others in Creme to match the GM as opposed to the Bestman. The Ringbearer should match Groom.

6. Different jewelry and shoes and color shawl.

7. Jess had a hook up with some pashima (sp??) maybe she can get you something close in color??

8. You should invite the priest to the reception.

Hope this helps!!

1) try zappos??? Barney's, Bloomies, Nordstrom. there is a mall in Jersey (Garden State Plaza) has ALL of the big stores.

2) only in shower invites. I think putting them in the wedding invite is a mortal sin! LOL

3) I have no clue

4 I like the second way.

5) do you think that's going to be too colorful? think about how all of those color would come out in pics...why don't you put everyone else except the BM in creme, and have them wear gold ties/vests.

6) bigger, blingy-er jewels, different hair style (if all other girls up, Alaina down, or vice versa.

7) get some fabric and ask pinina to make them.

8) invite him. if you're not worryin how everyone else is getting there, treat your priest accordingly. if he can drive, he'll be there. if not, he'll decline with regret.

MACYS, LOVEMYSHOES

2) Do registry cards only go in Shower invitations or are they put in Wedding invitations as well?
Yes.
DO NOT PUT REGISTRY CARDS IN WEDDING INVITATIONS

3) Do I HAVE to use inner envelopes for everyone?
YES. People will throw out the outer most likely.

4) or....should I have it as it is in the picture below, coming through the sides, and closing in the front across with the label?
I think it looks great in the photo coming through the sides!

5) Is it okay to put the Dad's, Ushers, Jr. GM, and ring bearer in the gold as well, or should I choose a different color for them completely?
Your day, your way, but I would separate them from the Best Man IMO. maybe silver or the creme. Im assuming you mean the vest/shirts are gold not the actual tuxedo.

6) MOH is wearing the same dress in the same color as the BM's. How can we have her stand out? We're already going to get her a different bok in a different color and bigger than the other BM's...any other suggestions?
MAYBE A DIFFERENT SHAWL THAN THE OTHER GIRLS

7) We have to get shawls for the BM's...b/c the church wants all the ladies shoulder's covered. Has anyone see some organza/sheer shawls around? Any color suggestions? Here's the dress in this color:
I would do sheer black to match the tuxes (again, if the tuxes are black)

8) We're planning on inviting the Priest ONLY to the Rehersal Dinner that we're having at my house. Should we invite him to the Reception as well?
NAA. I've never been to a wedding where the officiant was there at the reception.

Okay, think I'm doing with questions for now!

This is pretty much what i was gonna say. Also, I think Lord and Taylor, Macys, Bloomies, any dept store should carry the shawls

PROBLEM W/Pinina - she thought the wedding was 12/18/05....

LMAO-I forgot.

well, have someone else ask her then. didn't Wanda find you out anyway?

alternatively, I could see if someone on my end would do it for you. Maria has been making scarves and shawls. She'd definitely have them done before the wedding. it could be a last resort if you want.

Re: I have a messload of questions...

1. Caparros - which style are you looking for? I got Caparros, and different stores had different selections of colors of the style I got (mine are ivory, but the come in silver, black, red, white, gold, light gold, etc....). I got mine at Macys in roosevelt field, but Nordies had them in different subset of colors, as did the macys and nordies out here by me. Check around. Check online. I think one of the stores in RF had them in white, but I am not sure.

3. I used pocketfolds, too, and I put names on the outside of the pocketfold as if it were the inner envelope. Had to do it by hand. Is this waht you were asking?

7. Macys has a lot of shawls, some in sheer ivory which might work with your BM dress? Love the dress by the way - is it Jim Hejlm?

8. Our officiant is invited to the reception. This reminds me that she didn't respond, so I need to bug her about that.

Hope this helps.

Chris-

When we went for tuxes, the sales person suggested we put the fathers in black vests & ties since they don't have to match the BP. We thought that was a nice way for them to stand out.

Glad I could help! John is in a two button tux with a silver vest and the BP is in a one button tux with red vests. The fathers both have a 3 button tux with black. Just make sure the purple isn't ugly- the only purple vests I saw were prom looking.
