I have been on the pill since i was 16 (i have ovarian cysts) and this seems to help with the pain. anyway i was feeling really crappy on the reg. ortho tri cyclian so i got the low and i have had nothing but stomach pains. only been on this new one for about a week. Also ive had a head ache just about every day. so any one else experienced this?

I was on it for about a month and experienced severe head aches dizziness and my hormones (as all BC pills) were unbelievable. i actually hated it but some people do not experience anything.....i guess you need to find the pill right for you!!! yasmin i hear is great!!!

I have been on ortho tryclen low for over a year now. At first I was getting stomach cramps at first but it stopped after the first month.

My friend was also on it and was getting very sick from it. Turns out the dosage was to high for her and they had to give her a smaller dose. Maybe that could also be the case.

I've been on ortho lo for almost 2 yrs and love it. I was on the reg. ortho and gained a ton of wieght because of it, so I switched.

Hey Megan, I've had the same problems. I've been on BC pills for 10 years now, and have tried 3 different brands. Each one has pros and cons:
- I was on Estrostep for the first 8 years, but then my insurance stopped covering it and I went on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo. Estrostep made me bloated all the time and gave me a yeast infection for (I kid you NOT) 3 years. My gyno said I'd just have to live with it or go off the pills.
- I went on Ortho Tri Ciclen Lo, and the YI went away that week. Yay! Except, Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo gave me the worst cramps I've ever had in my life. I had to call in sick from work more than once, they were that bad. I gave it 6 months, my periods never got any better, and now I'm on Yasmin.
- With Yasmin, I don't have much cramps or backaches, but I don't have any sex drive either. Well... maybe it's not the pills as much as I switched right around the time I got engaged and spend all my free time looking at bouquets and dresses and hairstyles instead of cuddling with my honey. Also, with Yasmin and Estrostep, I carried around a LOT of extra water weight that I didn't have with OTC Lo. It doesn't matter how much I diet or exercise (I'm pretty thin), my stomach and my boobs are always pretty swollen.

Oh, okay right, to answer your question:
Every BC pill has a 'break-in' period of about 3 months, where your body adjusts and your PMS symptoms are worse than normal. After that, there are little things you'll either have to live with (water weight gain, low sex drive, cramps) or switch to another pill and try all over again. Like I said, I've been on BC pills for 10 years, and I'm telling you, there are always side effects. You just get used to them. (Like how I told you my stomach and boobs were always swollen when I was on Estrostep? I totally didn't even notice after the first six months, and SEVEN YEARS later when I switched to Ortho Tri Cyclen Low, the first week I took it, my pants started fitting looser and my boobs weren't sore, and I was so confused. I was like, was I really all that swollen for SEVEN YEARS???? Turns out, I was. Oh, and I am again on Yasmin, dammit.)
Anyone on Yaz? Is it different?

i know how u feel ive been on this stupid pill for 5 years and this is now the 3rd brand im on. the first one i have no idea what it was called but it made me seriously depressed. then i went on the orth tricyclian and it was good for 4 years but this past year no sex drive AT ALL and it upsets me cuz i never had that probelm. so im trying the low but if i keep getting the stomach pains and head aches so ill give it a month to adjust and see what happens.

The only thing I really loved was the patch.
...And then i found out that an abnormal amount of people die from blood clots that are on it. So I stopped.
I tried everything...... and everything gave me a bad reaction...maybe I didn't wait a long enough time to figure it out...but my gyno said it could be a really long time of trial and error. It just got to the point where it was too aggrivating to start a new pill....wait a month for it to kick in....deal with the awful side effects....and then switch again. Ugh.

I am on YAZ now and I love it, It is way better than the Yasmin, when I was on the Yasmin I had the extra water weight all the time and it was really beginning to frustrate me, on Yaz now I do not have that water weight and I have barely any side effect...I think it really depends on your body..everyone is different.

I am on seasonale and i love it...4 times a year =) can't beat that...but before that I was on ortho tri cyclen for cramps and all my cramps went away and i dont have any on seasonale

I was on loestrin (i was taken off since i now have high blood pressure ) and it caused dizziness and terrible headaches when i first came off! also caused headaches when i first started it. My doctor says its your body trying to adjust to the hormones....and when you go on or come off the pill it screws up your hormones...so don't worry i think its normal

i mean im not on the pill (gasp) but when i took Lo i had bad nausea and headaches like you wouldnt believe...n then i got really depressed to i stopped it.
i dunno im not good with meds so i just u know have him POAP (pull out and pray) HAHAHAHAHA

I am on Yasmin and at first I liked it but now i am getting the same side effects as everyone else. I think I'm going to switch. I was on Ortho tri cyclin lo at first too but he switched me because my periods were not regular.
