I have been sitting here listening to music try to pick a father daughter dance song... I mean I have been doing it for hours..... I have listened to every song everyone has posted since 2005. Still NOTHING.....
Problem is ...Dad and i have NO relationship... He is not walking me down the aisle at this point he is saying he is not even coming. He has issues with FH, my dad is a control freak and has lost control over my life completely in recent months. He is totally against me marrying not just FH anyone in fact no one has ever been good enough and yes I have been engaged before. Actually dad and I got along fine until FH and I announced we set a date. I know my dad and he will show up if nothing else to save face with the rest of the family, who thinks he is wonderful, so I have to pick a song.
So far I am thinking...
Everything Changes or Zoe Jane by Staind
However Mandy by Barry Manilow and Time Passages by Al Stewart has crossed my mind because we used to listen to them when I was a kid.....
Anyone who has any ideas please... please... post them.

honestly, i think you should just step away from this for now. its obviously making you upset and stresed out--you have time to figure this out! don't go crazy..and let it simmer for a few days or weeks. heck it might just come at you at a random moment when you stop searching for it!

Thats actually a good idea... I have been at this for like 4 weeks and still nothing.....I think it is the fact my grandmother keeps asking if I picked a song yet...

oh trust me--i know how that is! DH and i didn't have our first dance song picked out until the NITE BEFORE our wedding... can you imagine? i didn't pick out the father/daughter until about a wk before. next time your grandma asks--just tell her that you want it to be perfect and when you know, she'll know.

I agree with MJ .... step away from the song lists!
When you're ready to come back to the task, try taking a look at the LIW Song Lists.
Also, sometimes a song suggested for mother/son can work.

If it stresses you out this much then I say don't do it. Sure, doing it will let him save face but will you feel like a fraud up there? Will you hate every second of it?
If you still want to do it, then try 'The way you look tonight' by Frank Sinatra. It's very cute and not mushy at all
