just curious what type of pen you would use? i think it could look a little bumpy on the straight styrofoam..what if you put a little piece of cardstock on the ears and had them write on that?

Syrofoam is not easy to write on... but you could cut out small rectangular pieces of paper and have here write on those and then hot glue, or pin it to the syrofoam.

Hmmm.... well first your going to really have to make sure you spray those puppies really well. Styro is soo hard to cover. If you turn it one way and then another you might see some missed spots... did that make sense?

And no... you cant write on it b/c of the texture with the holes. I would cut out a piece of paper or something and have them attached to that... and then you could write the name on it.

I am not sure how easy it is to write on styrofoam bt I found these ideas too...
1st..chocolate placecards
2..mickey ear seals by invitationsbydawn.com
..for the seals you can print up the names and maybe mount them on reg place cards...

Agreed. I also think you should test out the cutting process - I think it might be harder than you think to get a clean cut on styrofoam with a cookie cutter.

Yeah... but you have to make sure its a low temp glue gun or else it will melt the styro.

Cardstock is a heavier paper. it would bend and crease of curl as easily as regular paper. you can find it in craft stores like michaels or can google it for larger quanities. let me know if you need help finding some.

Yup.... its very hard to cut styro depending on how thick it is. If you use a serrated knife it works best.

Re: i have a question..

I am so sick of writing responses and having them deleted, I can't stand it.

Okay, maybe I'm way gay with this, but hear me out.....

You know those mickey hats? Wait...who am I talking to?

Buy styrofoam balls. Cut them in half so they're like a half-sphere. Now they stand by themselves, so that eliminates any need for a stand.

Paint them black.

Use a heavy black cardstock or another heavy paper and cut out ears. You can stick them directly into the styrofoam, or glue toothpicks to the backs and stick them straight in. Or even pipe cleaners. You can write on the black cardstock with silver marker, or something like that. Voila. Mickey hats.

Either this is pure genius, or I am a complete imbecile. If the answer is the latter, feel free to make fun.
