I have a question

I'm not pregnant or trying to get prenant. I'm on the pill and my dr. just recently changed my pill. SOme one told me that when you change your pill you can get pregnant easier, because you body is'nt use to the new pill. Do any of you know if that's true? She said that her dr. changed hers and that first month she got pregnant and didn't miss a pill.

I'm really not sure. Why don't you play it safe just in case?

Some BP have equal doses in each pill and some have varied doses so I'd think that there is a chance that you are not 'safe' initially, even if you go right from one type to the other. I'd definitely use other protection for the first month. But if you really want to be sure, just give your gyn a call. I'm sure the nurses know the answer.

Re: I have a question

I have heard of women becoming pregnant after they switch to a different pill. I actually know someone who that happened to! You know how they say you should give it a few months when you first went on the pill in order to make sure you are safe? Thats what I would do.

I have also been told by an OB/GYN that he suspects that herbal supplements and diet pills can lessen the effectiveness of pills. It has now been documented that St Johns Wort does this, and we all know that antibiotics do this. It drives me nuts that many docs who prescribe antibiotics never tell the women about this! (Those are usually male doctors).
