I have a stupid question regarding the RH

I have a stupid question regarding the RH

Is there any places that allow you to pay off a major chunk of the bill AFTER the wedding? If so, what places?

I don't know how we would be able to save up all that money before the wedding without using money we get from the envelopes.

TIA!

as far as i know no, the balance is due the day of the wedding

im sure it would cause a lot of problems for the rh if they had to collect money AFTER the wedding

Definitely NOT.....though....I do hear that lots of Asian Banquet Halls do this- they allow you to pay at the end of the reception. My friend tells me that often times the uncles are in the back opening envelopes and counting money to pay.

I don't thank any of the RH's on Long Island do this, though

Highly doubt it... If you had a business, would you give services to someone who hasnt paid up? You prob wouldnt take that chance... Halls wont even take CC or personal check... Bank checks only....

Is there any way you can cut down your guest list/cut down on food or things you dont really need? Places will bargain with you a bit on that...

I've never heard of the RH LETTING you pay after the wedding but when you go and price things out, ask. I do know people who opened envelopes to pay for the wedding and tips. ALSO, remember the people who don't come will probably send you gifts BEFORE your actual wedding date. ALSO, my FSIL just got married and she returned so much stuff to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and got money back for it because she didn't need 3 blenders LOL! She got about $600-$700 back just from her shower because of gifts.

At least from my exp - they need the bal paid in full at bare minimum 1 week before the wedding so they can order & pay for the food for the day of as well as have the money to pay staff for the night. I know it $ucks but it's a harsh fact of the wedding/RH business...

I also see you are getting married 6+ years from now - I would think that would be plenty of time to choose & lock a cheap rate for a place somewhere & save up if you're the ones paying for wedding yourselves... just a thought

FH and I met with 17 halls, of those 17 I think 4 said you can pay the balance the day of. Most others want the final payment one week before.
you should figure out what your entire budget is, how many people you are expecting then figure out how much you can afford pp (after ++)
I'm on a tight budget too, but there are things that I really want and I've learned shopping around a little you can fit them into your budget.

No that date is not our wedding date, LIW wouldn't let me leave it empty though. We haven't really even started looking at venues.

I haven't heard of any that allow you to pay after the wedding. Most want the balance the day of the wedding.

you shouldn't plan your wedding with the expectation of a certain amount of money from your gift envelopes. i think the best way to plan your wedding without a monumental amount of stress would be to plan the wedding with money that you have for it and anything you get as a gift will be a treat to you or work to replenish any money that you have already spent. no hall, on li at least, would allow you to pay after the wedding

I doubt it my hall requires the balance the week of the wedding it would be nice if the hall would allow it after the wedding cause you can take any money you made and use that lol.

I have to pay the week before

I don't think I've seen a RH that will allow this. However, most do have payment plans. Most RHs require full payment (in cash or certified check) either the week of or day of.

I had to pay 2 weeks before when I gave my final count. Cash or Bank Check. I dont think they would let you pay after cause then there would be no incentive to pay....you already got your event at that point.

We were lucky - our band we were able to pay the night of & we paid the balance for our pictures/video once the proofs we in & we picked them up - which was about 1 month after we got married...
