should i have money ready for a deposit or am i just giving my credit card as if I was reserving a room for myself?
Are you blocking rooms? Because when I blocked rooms with the Wingate Inn I didn't have to leave any deposit. I did have to leave a credit card number for the room I booked with them.

Just need a credit card-- this is only for booking your room. They do not require a credit card for a room block.
