FH wants carrot..but i think that is hard to do since people either love it or hate it...

i liked the idea of choco cake mix with cannoli filling with white cream on the outside. i thought it would look cool when you cut it..the browm would have some contrast....

Janie, I've made that cake...the only think that makes it red is food coloring...which can be changed to any color- there is no other ingredient vital to the cake the turns it that color.

it's a really good cake- especially with cream cheese frosting...yummy

I tried a chocolate cake with white chantilly cream at the Fox HOllow showcase from the same baker that WM uses. it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. they use Erga bakery in Bethpage. I would definitely check them out first. I may go with a different vendor..

that being said, I want my cake to taste like a chocolate almond croissant. if anyone has ever had on of these puppies, you know why

it's basically a white batter, but it has 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder and is made with vinegar and buttermilk. it has a higher acid content than regular cake...it is very moist, kind of dense, and has a unique but subtle flavor.

that's about the best I can do.

I guess I can see if my hall can do it. If they can't I refuse to pay for a cake outside of the hall. I'll just have to pick another cake design.

they CAN...it's just a matter of charging you extra for it. the cake is 'free' up to a certain amount, then they add on an additional fee.
