said yes to the dress :D I'm so excited to be able to wear it!! Had a wonderful experience at Bridal Reflections in Massapequa, my attendant really listened to what I was looking for and the second dress I put on was the one!
After falling in love with my dress I still wanted to try on different things and since I already had an appointment at another place *which shall remain unnamed* I ended up going and it wasn't a good experience. The attendant made me feel horrible about myself, she said I should only try on dresses with rouching (sp?) to slim my waistline, and that the type of dress I had in mind really wasn't for my body type. To top it all off most of the sample dresses there didn't even fit me I just felt so bad about myself! I'm not a small girl by any means, I know I have to lose some weight but I think I'm still pretty average (I wear a size 8 jeans).
That's another thing, are wedding dresses sized differently? my dress was like a size 14-16.

Yay! Congrats!!!you are not fat! Sizes of wedding dresses run on the small size I am the same jean size as you and I ordered a 14. They will have to take it in in some areas. I tried it on at a different place and it was a size 10 I could barely sit. They said that was my size. Im so glad I went to another store. There sample was 14 which was big in some areas but they said they fit the dress.to my body. So glad I didnt get it in a 10 it was tight!

Yes the dresses definitely run differently. I'm a size 0 in regular clothes & my wedding dress was ordered in a size 10!

Wedding gowns are sized according to the old standards of dress making, so a size 14 is probably more like an 8 or 10 of today's sizes.

I just looked at your dress and I think you look gorgeous in it.
Please do not get hung up on the numbers......so long as you love your dress, you are comfortable in it - it's just a number. I know easier said than done.

your dress is gorgeous and you look gorgeous in it!!! And what the HECK are you talking about that you need to lose weight?? You do NOT look like you need to lose anything that dress compliments your body perfectly. :) Don't worry about what the size on the tag says, its skewed for wedding dresses anyway.

Love the way your dress fits you! you look amazing! As someone else said, the dress sizes run traditionally (as do most bridesmaids, so tell them not to worry)

Me too...I wear a size 7 or 8 in jeans and one of my dresse sis a 10 and the other is a 12 and the size 10 I had to get let out a little! They all run small because I think most things out there now are stretchy...jeans and regular clothes you know? bridal gowns are NOT stretchy! LOL I love your dresses. Its blingy and fabulous and I love it!!
