I HAVE HAD IT

332 SPAM MESSAGES IN MY EMAIL THIS MORNING!!!!!

WHAT is the deal??!?! Even with a junk filter, I still have to go thru the ones that get dumped into the delete folder, in case there is a work related e-mail that just might not be somebody in my address book.

And the DISGUSTING NATURE of most of these e-mails. I couldn't even repeat on this board what I see in the morning having my tea. How do I make it stop. My husband says never to take yourself off their list - he says all that does is tell them it's an active e-mail account and to keep sending. So what then?

I have to spend a ton of time at work on the internet surfing around basically doing research - and I guess this is why it happens..but I am just so over it!

Does anybody have any tricks to reduce this?

Is this your work email account? If so, let your IT department know. We did and they added on new spam filters and now I'm down to about 5-7 a day.

I actually forward them to our IT department so they can see where the mail is coming from and improve the blocks.

Are you talking about work e-mail or personal e-mail? If it's personal e-mail, really the only thing that you can do other than filter it is to change your e-mail address.
I absolutely despise spam. I get a ton of it too and it drives me crazy. If I get one more spam mail about penis enlargements.....!!!!

annie EXACTLY - ALL I get is penis enlargement, viagra ads, and some really obscene stuff way beyond that.....it's really aggravating.

Not to mention mortgage things, tax things, all kinds of stuff.

i always click on the link they provide to unsubscribe and that usually stops 95% of it from repeating. i think legally if you ask them to stop, they have to.

Yeah, the penis enlargement one is very popular. I am so SICK of spam mail Sometimes I am constantly deleting all of it, I feel that I may miss some important mail in the interim.

Dh gets the penis enlargement ones all the time. The poor thing.

I get the pharmecutical ones a lot...I always click unsubscribe, and they just regenerate off of other sites.

My mom gets penis spam mail all the time. The other day she responded telling them that if they could enlarge her penis she would give them a million dollars cash!! LOL!!!

I just delete/report spam (I have AOL) and over time it gets a little better.

I read somewhere that if you open the mail or click on any links in the email it makes the situation worse - they are getting traffic from and probably some sort confirmation that it's a valid email address.
