I have no identity!!!!!

someone stole my identity and i just got a bill from something that was purchased from QVC ...they actually got my SS # and opened an account .. i am so mad i worked so hard to get my credit in check and now some loser scammer does this to me , and the worst is that QVC wont tell me anything about where it was shipped to or any info so i can try to find out who is doing this. Does anyone know how i could check my credit report without having points taken off for an inquiry?? FH says that this purchase is the only one i know about there could be more

credit reports that you get about yourself do not count as inquiries, you are entitled to view your account - that is only if you are applying for any type of credit or insurance - not for your own viewing

I checked my credit report today and someone tried to open a credit card under my name.
the person did not have my ss#, but had my home phone number and name. It's a good think I check my credit regularly and noticed that the credit card company made an inquiry.

I just checked mine today with MyFico.com. I noticed that they had an extra name and address for me and it was taken care of right away! You can check your report from al three credit agencies.

OK checking your credit report doesnt cost you any points. It may only make a mark that your credit was checked. Not necessarily that they will charge you a point for looking.

I dont see how checking your credit will hlp you though unless you want to check and see if there is another credit card opened in your name that you didnt give access to.

I want to tell you that on NBC Today show about three months ago...they did a study.

You know when you get those credit card forms. Well the show ripped up a few then taped them back together, change the address of the applicants but not the name. They didnt even fill out the SS#

Credit cards from 4 or 5 companies were sent to the other address. it was so scary. The only credit card that didnt send a new account card and actually called and checked up was AMEX>

Quite Scary if you ask me. If you have anymore questions about your credit report FM me. I am pretty sure though that they wont charge you any points. Just watch what credit report company you are asking to pull it.. they are many different prices and thats where the companies make their money.

Oh I kow exactly what our going through. Someone got a hold of my devit card number and used it to purchase plane tickets to England , hotel fees and all this other crap. It's such a horrible feeling knowing that someone is trying to impersonate you. Just make sure you change all PIN numbers and get new account numbers. As for your social security number, that's a tough one. I guess just keep a good eye on your credit report. Most likely, you were just a random person tehy picked and hopefully they'll forget about you and try someone else. Well, that's not really very hopeful for the next person but you know what I mean! Report it right away to one of the 3 credit bureaus...I had my wallet stolen with my social security card in it! I had to report it to all 3 credit bureaus..and now if anyone , including me ever makes a significant purchase they call me to verify (they did this when i bought my car)

The three bureaus are:
Trans Union
Equifax
Experian
