I have such mixed feelings

I have such mixed feelings

Fh is going back to school. He has been working in HR for the past 2 years. His company LOVES him(i certainly understand that) and sees him having a bright future with them. The only problem is that his degree is in Music and he only has the past 2 years in HR.So, he has decided to go back to school and get his Master's in Business. This will happen a few months after we get married.

Now, I am 100% behind this decision, but I worry about the strain it will put on our relationship. We already see very little of each other. Our work schedules are completely opposite and with night school I honestly don't think we are ever going to see each other. I know that it is the best thing for our future, but getting through the present is going to be very difficult.

I guess I am looking for words of wisdom from those that are in a similar situation. I feel that because I have concerns I am being selfish when he is being so selfless.

Re: I have such mixed feelings

My DH goes to school at night (we both work very long hours during the day). I admit I hate it, but I know its for the best in the long run. Don't feel selfish, its only natural to want to be with your husband. It is going to be difficult, but there are things you can do. We try to sneak in little 'dates' when we can if he has a light week at school. And we plan road trips for when he's between semesters so we get some time for just us. Also, make sure to make plans with your girlfriends when you can (when he's in class). Keep yourself occupied and it won't be as bad.

The thing I really try to keep in mind is not to put more pressure on him than he already has by making him feel guilty for not being around as much as I'd like. I know he wants to be with me more, but he's just spread a little thin right now. I try to be as supportive as I can, picking up the slack around the apartment and with errands. I complain to my best friend when I need to vent. He really appreciates my support.

Best of luck to you!

I will be starting to get my Master's a few months after my marriage fo HR/business also. Look at it as a sacrifice for a while for a brighter and happier tomorrow.
