dog, anastasia. i'm so heartbroken. fh husband's grandpa wants fmil and ffil to build him an apartment in the garage underneath the one their building for me and fh, and thats where we are keeping anastasia.were going to meet a woman today who wants her.

she's a rowttweiler and she's 5 yrs. old. i'm going to miss her soooooooo much. my fh got her like 2 months before we started going out.

But don't they all know you have your dog? Are they telling you to get rid of her? I am confused. Cannot you find a new place to live that allows pets. I wouldn't get rid of Beemer for anything. I would just ask FMIL why does your pet have to leave because Grandpa is coming.
Also- this is a good example of why people should not get pets until they own their own homes. It is too hard on both the pets and the owners when something like this happens. I am really sorry but I think you should discuss this with everyone before giving away your pet.

she's too big a dog to let live in the apartment with us. fmil and ffil are building us an apartment at their house above the garage where the dog lives now. thats why we were doing it only above the garage instead of the whole garage because of the dog. after the architect came like two weeks ago, we told fh grandpa what we were doing and he decided he wanted to build an apartment below us in the garage. his wife just died and he's lonely and he has cancer. so fmil wants to do this for him and so does fh. i know what your saying about not getting a dog before we have our own place because its hard, but he had the dog before me and him even started going out together.

Isn't there some sort of compromise? A garage is no place for a dog to live anyway (no offense, JMO)
Maybe you could ask FMIL & FFIL to let her in the main house during the day and you guys could take her back at night?
My mom has a choc. lab io a small house and although she's a big dog it works out fine....
I am sure you could find a way....

My advise is to NOT live with your future in-laws. Get your own place with FH (I mean apartment, not buy a house). You might save some $$ living with them BUT you have to get rid of your dog. Is the savings worth that? You have to decide. And I agree, a sick grandfather needs a place to live and that is more important than a puppy.
