I have to post something...
I'm having wedding planning withdrawals lately. My wedding is not until August 2002 and I've already booked the hall, priest, photographer, video and the DJ so I don't have any questions to ask any of you guys. I have nothing else to do for the wedding until January when we come back up to NY. I am definitely ahead of the game which is great, but I have nothing else to do now! My mom is supposed to come down in September so we can look for a dress (hopefully). At least that's something to do. I'll have to come up with something to ask. It's hard reading all the posts and not having anything to post yourself! I do have to say I wouldn't of had most of my vendors booked if it wasn't for this board. Being that I live out of state, there is no other way I could of found out all of this information. So thanks to everyone and to LI Weddings.

Maybe you could start on your favors or invitations or something.

August 2002 too also...
I think we're both going through the same thing. It seems that we are both at the same planning stage as well. I've booked the reception site (Crest Hollow), the priest, the band & the photographer. I too am going to look for a dress in September. Then BM dresses, flowers, limos, invites, etc... I actually think it is very beneficial to just absorb what other people are talking about on this board. Keep me posted on your plans. Nicole D.

Which vendors are you using...
And who did you look at? I find that information very helpful. Please comment on what you found.

Melissa....
I completely understand what your saying!! Being in Georgia has made this whole process tough! I can`t believe that my wedding is 2 months! It seems like it went so fast but it has been a long time!!! I went through the same thing as you- we picked out all of the big stuff last July and august and then we felt kind of stuck b/c it was so far away. We probably did nothing else until January. Take this time to just relax and enjoy being engaged- it`s hard b/c you just want it to be here now but believe me it will be here sooner than later. Try and do little things- like look for invitations and paper for your programs...that took us a long time to find what we wanted. Right now is prime wedding season so lots of wedding stuff is in stores- you would be better off to find some of that stuff now then this time next year when you have so much else to do! Good luck and hang in there!!!

Lots to do
As I near the end I have plenty of suggestions to help you pass the time. Start on the guest list it takes months to get final and track down addresses and how many you can invite. I would recommend cutting out pictures of hairstyles, photographs you would like taken and make a wedding binder with all the little details. You can also be creative and make things for the wedding like favors, money bag candle if having one. Good luck planning. I did a little at a time and am so glad I did because it is 11/2 months away and I am not as hectic as some of my bride friends are.

Lots to do
I was thinking the same thing, we have our major vendors booked. I am sort of on the same page as Nicola, getting the guest list in order is my next priority. I have also been looking through cd's to see if there are any songs I really want played, poems in case there is something that I want read at the ceremony or to use on the program or something. Little things like that. If someone were to ask me now what readings are you having, I would be looking at them like they had 3 heads. I just keep a list of things I want to look into, interesting web addresses that might be useful later on. things like that. We are also planning our honeymoon so that is pretty exciting!Welcome New Vendors
