I would like to send a gift with our 'no' RSVP to a wedding. I am going to her B-Party and shower... what would be an appropriate amount to give? They are aquantences we see here and there.. not often though

I'd give $100 or a gift off their registry.

i'd prob do $50-100, depending how close you guys are

i'd probably get something off her registry rather than a check, but it really depends on my mood that day

Any idea if they are coming to yours? Even still I think $100 is good since you're not going. Maybe bump it up to $150 just in case they come to yours!

IMO $100 is more than generous.

I never thought I was a poor gift giver but some of these numbers make me think I am low balling gifts! Geeez.

we got about 7 checks and one gift with a 'no' response. the checks were mostly for $50 ... one was for $100, and one was $200. The gift was worth about $60.

That's about what we got, too. And many more with no gifts and a no response, which is fine. The gift we got though was about $100- my BOSE outdoor speaker!

the most recent wedding I said NO to was out of state, and they invited me ALONE. I mean, I understand I did not have a 'plus one' at the time but to invite me OOT alone and not knowing anyone????

The groom was someone I dated in college, but I am friendly w his now wife so it was fine. I sent $50 and they were so appreciative they emailed me a TY note and sent a paper TY card too.

I just replied no to a wedding in NJ on memorial day weekend (which I JUST got the invite for yesterday btw!!! )

I am just going to buy them a gift off their registry!

Agreed!

I got $200 from a 'no' response and was VERY touched!!!

I would most likely send a gift off the registry.

But if you're not going, they dont have to pay for your plate, so anything you give them is going right to them!

I give no more than half of what I would have given if I went.

Being that it is only an acquaitence, I would say $200....if it was a close friend or relative I would say to give what you would have given had you attended the wedding.

I agree that OOT single guests should get a plus one. I am inviting several girls from college out of state and I want to make sure they don't feel lonely.

But like my father said, 'You have to have some single girls going stag for all the single guys!' haha

I'd do $100-$150 depending how close you are. Or a really nice gift, sometime if I'm not close to the person at all, like the people I open the invite and i'm like 'I haven't seen this person in 5 years why am I invited' I'll send something off the registry or nice crystal or something.
