I haven't spoken to my Mom in over 20 yrs...

Until today!!! and was on the phone with her for almost 6 hours!!! I had sent her an invite to the wedding. She writes me a note (did not RSVP yet) I think we should talk call me... So I did... Come to find out that the stuff my dad told me was ALL untrue... Yeah she actually had proof to back it up... Crazy HUH? NEVER thought the woman wanted anything to do with me... I was so wrong... My dad did some really BAD S*** over the years to keep her from me.... I haven't even told my family I spoke to her only FH knows. But it was good real good!!! I JUST had to tell someone I am so EXCITED about it!!!

Aww, sweetie, I am so happy for you. I don't know what the situation was these last 20 years, but I am so glad you have reconnected and that you spoke for so long!

Basically I am 39 and haven't heard from her since I was 11 she used to come get me every weekend back then... In the state of Ohio when a child turns 12 they can choose which parent to live with, right before I turned 12 I told my dad I wanted to go live with my mom. that weekend she never showed up to get me... I never heard from her again until today. Apparently my dad sicked his lawyer on her along with that and many other threats.... and I couldn't not ivite my own mom... but it broke the ice... I doubt she will come to the wedding just in case daddy deareast would show... but we are talking that is what is important.

It is awesome that you are speaking. And terrible of your dad to do such a thing to a young girl. I am so sorry to hear about it.

Everything else is going as planned with the wedding? I know you posted a while ago about some problems. Hope all is WELL!!!!!

Jody, that is awesome news. So happy for you especially with all the stress you've been dealing with.

I am sorry about all the stuff with your Dad though.

wow. Hopefully you can move ahead with a future with your mother. Please do it before it is too late. I had an on/off relationship with my dad and he told me my mother use to tell us many lies and had proof to back it up. I see what my ex is doing to my kids, so I know it can be possible. I was in an off relationship with my dad when he died at 61. Although I wasn't tight with him, it is hard to know you will never get closure. Don't let that happen to you.
