I'm at work right now and my boss' wife just told me that fondant or however you spell it, doesn't taste good at all... Does anyone know? I love how it looks, but if it doesn't taste good, then there's no point! Thanks girls!

I read in a post somewhere that Plain fondant dosn't taste good but they do put flavoring in it to give it a taste. I think it is used more for the look than the taste.
I don't know what kinda flavoring they could put in it but I am sure like a Vanilla or almond would taste good.

i had a fondant cake and it was delicious! I had actually wanted an ivory one so they told me that they mix alittle chocolate in with it. It's tasty and pretty...

it doesnt taste good at all - kind of like paper in my opinion - that is why they usually put buttercream under it if you are using it on a cake

i think it is fine if its made right. sometimes it is sort of sweet but if it is cut with something like chocolate then its great!!!

I loved it too!! I actually ordered a cake from Audrey's with the fondant to taste how it was and it was delicious. I guess it can also depend on your baker!! Audrey's is the best JMO!!
