I hurt my finger

So the other day I was trying to open my new electric scissor so i could put the batteries in, and the compartment was stuck really tight. So after like 5 minutes of trying I finally gave it a really good strong tug.
Well, my right thumb nail somehow smacked into the bone on the top of my left pinky finger and it hurt like a b%*@#!
So now, two days later, the finger still hurts and is still a little swollen. I put ice on it last night and that helped to get rid of the pain....but this morning it ahces still.
Shoudl I go see a doctor about this? I'm embarrassed to go because then I'd have to explain how i did it and i'll sound like a moron.....but i don't want it to get worse....
any thoughts?

If it's been a couple of days and it's still swelling I'd see a doctor.

the thing is that it diesn't hurt too much, unless I type a lot (of course) or press on it really hard. I think I probably just bruised the bone....but it looks so sad all puffy and swollen!

You're not a clutz...

I would keep icing it and take an advil or something...I don't think that seeing a doctor is necessary...but then again, I guess it couldn't hurt.

I would keep putting ice on it. I don't think there's much else you can do. That stinks.
